Gerkin, I'm smelling what you're stepping in for the most part, but the streetcar to downtown may not take as long as you think...
It took less than three years from getting awarded the federal grant to opening the line on Loyola in New Orleans.

Yeah, and no one would build a hundred million dollar facility to only use it 8-16 times per year, right?
As far as inter-city rail, LSU football games, Saints games, LSU baseball games, Pelicans games, Mardi Gras, Jazz Fest, there are plenty of large-venue activities that they could boost rail capacity between BR and NOLA for.
This was the first rendering I saw for the South EZ exterior:
...I liked the placement of the arches there better. It would've been a much closer match tot the North side.

a trolley up and down river as if it is going to be plopped in right quick. im well aware of the discussions on these types of things and even if they all go forward - this takes a very very long time to be built.

a light rail between cities is meant for other purposes - not primarily for mass transit of fans 7 nights out of the year.

Let us take cars, for example. You could cite torque and horsepower and the kind of leather and amenities ins Porsche 911 and tell me future models will have certain additional features - and thus Porsche 911 provides the best driving experience. I am telling you I prefer a BMW.
Typical Louisianian. Likes to argue about how bad things associated with Louisiana are.
Your points are ridiculous. I use my brain and do not go to the bathroom during peak times.

Agreed. Even the flightiest of women can offer a rational reason as to why she prefers one dress over another. It might be color, fit, or it just makes her feel sexier.
The rational reasons fans of other stadiums can offer as to why they prefer another stadium to Tiger Stadium are few and far between.
And those reasons will not include easier access to/from seating, more chair back seating of all types, and more premium seating of all types. And neither will anyone be able to say their seats are closer to the field.
And in the future, those rational reasons will not include closer access to bars, shops, restaurants, and hotels. Nor will anyone be able to say another stadium has better access to light rail, or a rail link to a city with better nightlife and food than New Orleans.
And anyone saying anywhere else has more and better tailgating, and offers better food deserves to be pointed out and laughed at.
Finally, no one will be able to say they prefer another stadium because of it's superior gameday experience without failing a lie detector test.
They'll just have to fall back on the old homer excuse "Just because!"

That's going to be one drunkass train.
That would be true year round, not just during football season.

I think that your point the LSU tailgating experience has the best food really depends on the region of the country that you're tailgating in. About 20 years ago, I attended a tailgate in Austin, Tex. The food at that tailgate was the best Hispanic food that I ever tasted. Years ago when LSU played North Carolina at North Carolina, some of their fans invited us to their tailgate. We accepted the invite and their BBQ was the best that I have ever eaten. Their method of BBQ is quite different than they do in La., and Bama. Cajun and Creole foods are not the best in the nation. Each region of this country specializes in something. Go to Maryland and enjoy their crabs and crabcakes. The people up there do one hell of a crabcake.

I know I'm not the only one who can say I've eaten both excellent BBQ and crabs and crabcakes while at LSU. You can find a wide variety of food at LSU tailgates. I've actually eaten the best steak I've ever had in my entire life right outside Tiger Stadium.
Point is, you can find just about anything you want at Tiger Stadium. I don't want to sound like a food snob, but when I was in the Navy I traveled a lot. And when people found out I was from Louisiana, they'd invariably tell me about a local restaurant where I could get "great" Louisiana food.
Of course, I was invariably disappointed. The "great" Louisiana food there was seasoned to the local taste buds. And when I came back home and complained about it, my brothers had no sympathy for me. "Learn to cook it yourself doofus!" they said. So I did. And now when I travel, I stay far, far away from any Louisiana-themed restaurants.
I'm not doubting you about the excellent food you ate where you ate it. And the Hispanic food, BBQ, and crabcakes here might not be up to snuff with those other places you visited.
But I'd bet my bottom dollar that any Louisiana food you'd find at any of those places wouldn't be up to snuff with what you'd find outside Tiger Stadium, either. And forgive me, but that's what I'd prefer to eat, as a proud child of my state.

I would never eat at an out of state restaurant that claimed that they had a Cajun or Creole menu. They have this seafood joint here in Montgomery that currently states that they have hot and spicy crawfish. There is no way in hell that I would ever buy crawfish from this place. They had a couple of restaurants here that "specialized" in Louisiana cooking, but they closed down after a couple of months. They have this new place here in Montgomery that opened up last month. It's called the Shrimp Basket. I tried their shrimp poboy and their poboy was great. They use the same kind of bread that Baton Rouge uses. The food was quite tasty and very well prepared. Being from New Orleans, I learned how to overlook the bread issue. Whoever founded this restaurant has a great knowledge of Louisiana seafood. The place is always packed and I'll definitely make a return trip.
