My expectations are this

Host a regional almost every year

Top 8 seed 1 of EVERY year (this is LSU)

Make it to Omaha 1 of every other year.

Have a championship caliber team once every THREE years and maybe win it TWO to THREE times a decade.

These should be our expectations. He needs to produce or gtfo Dodge. He is turning into Les.

On a final note, my expectations revolve around accomplishments at the end of the year, not now. It was a shite sandwich of a series. Time will tell on this team. However, meet the expectations or his arse needs to be fired.

Because we never should have fired Les... Oh, wait. Never mind.

Something, something, the coaches know better than us, something, something. That usually explains why it's okay to perennially underachieve, and shuts down all conversation to the contrary.

And how many years does it take before this happens? 1, 2. 5. 10?

Austin Nola said after he turned pro, he did not know there was so much more to learn about baseball after he left LSU. Bottom line. There is a reason college coaches aren't in pro ball.

No. The expectations are still high. The results are low.

Sit him down for a game or two now to let him stew on it. If it works in the majors, why not here?

Maybe PM is hoping Bianco will come around like K Robertson did in his 3rd and final year. Robertson got way more playing time in his 1st and 2nd year than anyone ever before him at LSU.

Lol. You liar. Mike Fontenot was an AA at 2B. Bregman was an AA at SS. Both freshman years.

You would think the grooves on that record would be worn out by now.

Last time we did that was in 2013.

So

2008 1-2 in Omaha
2009 National Champs
2013 0-2 in Omaha (the apparent norm for LSU baseball)
2015 1-2 in Omaha
2017 3-3 in Omaha

It was the Smoke Era that we consistently went 0-2 in Omaha not the CPM era.

Would losing a New Years six bowl in football be considered a bad season?
Would losing in the Elite Eight be a bad season?

Your answer to this question should also be the answer to making it to Omaha. Only eight teams make it to Omaha every year. To make it is impressive. Yes we should judge CPM on how he does in Omaha too, but I hate how this fan base think making it to Omaha isn’t a good thing.

I would argue it the hardest thing to do in the three major sports. When comparing New Year’s six, Elite Eight and the College World Series.

If we’re not hosting a super we should be thinking about canning him, and that’s coming from someone who’s still not out the door on him

Are elite basketball programs ok with this?

OR do elite football programs look at the resources and players they have and say CFP or bust....and elite basketball programs say we should be making it to the final four...maybe not win it all but its a let down to not be in the picture. I think you know the answer to this.

That being said, if were gonna be satisfied with hosting a regional or getting to Omaha and going 0-2, it's admitting to ourselves we are no longer an elite baseball program.
