Beckham is the only WR smart enough to realize that if he catches a ball, it translates into an NFL career. Randle and Sheppard want "THEIR BOY,'' back at qb and will drop everything to make it happen. Bench both their asses so they can pout with JJ on the sidelines!!!!!!
I'm front row next week in Florida and I'm bringing 6 loud boo birds with me!!!!!!! Drop a pass and you get the treatment WRs.

OMG Moron Alert

Hopefully an illness will keep you from attending.

Shep has probably been the most underutilized bunch of talent in Baton Rouge. the number one prospect coing out of H.S. and really doesn't have a whole lot to show for himself. Fast - sure.

This isn't true. They have tried numerous ways to get him the ball. He just isn't very good and is a 5 star bust. His inability to make plays downfield makes him a useless WR.

This is obviously a flame but it brings up a point worth making. Did you watch the WRs last season? Some of JJ's best looking passes were dropped last season and a number of them on 3rd down.

Why don't you confront them personally, upfront and in person? Tell JJ how you feel about him as well. You are one bad mother shut your mouth behind that keyboard in your underwear.

So true --- maybe he's not a total bust --- but he's not an SEC QB, not an SEC RB, and obviously not a good WR.... good athlete, just not at this level of football.

He'd be a STAR running QB at a different level -- but his HS talent just doesn't equate well to SEC level of play.

Les gave him a shot --- many others told him up front he was not a QB in college... I suspect Les knew this too, but gave him the shot thinking he'd covert to WR or RB and make an impact.

But face it --- as a RB --- he's #4 or #5 in the rotation... at QB he's no better than #4 and could be behind Rivers... who knows?

At WR he'll get on the field --- but he's a distant #3 in my opinion and if he continues to NOT make plays.... could be off the field.

He's one "star" that burned out before he arrived on campus, unfortunatly.

Too bad he can't return punts/kicks.... but since he's never been back there I figure Les knows this is not a talent he has..... but I would like to see him with the ball in open territory...

wrong, Shep needs to work on his pass catching, he is a WR that needs work especially coming back from a 3 game layoff. He should be what Odell is right now, a receiver that can catch the ball and run his arse off! He doesn't have the build to be a RB, just give him time to get going and LSU will have 2 receivers that can be dangerous after the catch!

Agreed. He would also benefit from some plays like the wide receiver screens we ran for Bowe back in the day and the "long hand-offs" Josh Reed benefited from. I think Shepard's issues have been one part poor hands/receiver instincts (from years of taking snaps instead of catching passes) and two parts lack of imagination.

ah, Mr Roaad and I converge our opinions, on football.

RS is not a WR.

hand him the ball.

pass to RS is mostly a fail. he will not go down to advance the chains, but prefers to try a shoestring catch. I am still waiting for him to make his first shoestring catch.

There must be someone TD who KNOWS him, who can take him aside and say, go the frick down and make the catch, man.
Yesterday he found other ways to look like he is not a WR.
The WV game, he just did not go down and try to make a low ball into a reception.

I will add my disdain for Reuben Randle, who looked liked his head was not in the game, this game and the previous, at times.

If he had run out that first long ball, it would have been a TD.

he will never be what Odell is. he will never have the same combination of hand eye coordination, instinct and the WR attitude that lets Odell go down and make a catch on a low ball that cannot be advanced. RS THINKS every ball should be a TD.

I concur, RS is not a RB. He went down like a sack of potatoes, the couple of times he went into the line as a QB.

I think RS should be the return man, and not sacrifice excellent DBs on a dangerous activity.

I thought that Landry would be more established by now. Yes, he's a freshman, but I thought he and OBJ were on the same level over the summer. He has much better hands than RS, but is obviously learning to adjust to college ball. I love the enthusiasm that RS has had for LSU from the beginning - a great recruiter for the program. It's just been hard to find ways to use his "on the field" talents, and it's not from a lack of trying.

Landry had a foot injury. temporary set back.

IMO, sit RS and let Landry and K Boone and Wright get the snaps which are wasted on RS.
