A request of everyone who posts on Tiger Rant.

I’m old enough to be the grandfather of most of the people who post on Tiger Rant, and definitely old enough to be the father of at least 60% of you, so yes you can call me an old fart by making this post.

I’m thoroughly disgusted with the way the Tiger team has played at times this season. I think we have many great players on the team, and I feel that we are just a few players away from being a national championship quality team. I, like many, blame the poor play of this team on the coaching staff. The two young men trying to play QB are doing as well as they can, unfortunately their level of talent is not at the SEC level.

With all of that said, I’d like to address the people who post on this board and feel the need to use profanity, and even worse, use the Lord’s name in vain. Please stop and think that this board is read by people all over the country, especially people who support the teams that we play. To many of them the people who post here represent the Tiger Nation.

I’m sure beyond a shadow of a doubt that most of the people who post here have vocabulary skills on a level that you don’t need to express your disdain for our teams play by cursing or calling them names. Post your opinion, not matter how strong, using a vocabulary that you would use in expressing your disgust with the team when at work in an office. You can get your point across and many more people will take you seriously when you use adult words.

So go ahead and flame me for making this request of you all. Just remember that when people from other schools read your comments they will laugh as you flame a fellow Tiger fan who is simply asking that you make your posts with a little bit of class. I may be new to this board this year, but I have been a Tiger Fan since before many of you were born. I just choose to speak of MY TIGERS with a bit of respect in hopes that the future may be brighter than our current situation.
