A long read from a (former) Miles supporter

I admittedly have been one of Miles' biggest supporters and thought the way the end of last season played out was distasteful and thought Miles had earned a chance to have another season to address the deficiencies in his team.
Then yesterday happened, and everything was even worse. Worse lack of preparation, offensive progress, any semblance of a passing game or an offensive strategy, special teams failure after failure, poor decisionmaking, and to cap it all off, an embarrassing total lack of discipline with Boutte's hit. Which took me back to Vadal Alexander's idiot shove in 2014. But I digress.
For Miles to trot this out there yesterday after the way last season ended, the outpouring of support for him, and the promise to refocus and modify things, on a national stage like this was, speaks volumes. He is not the man for this job anymore.
Part of me says hey - it's only one game, and there are 11 to go including the entire SEC slate. But anyone with two eyes and a modicum of football IQ who watched the way 2015 ended and saw yesterday knows an SEC title or playoff spot are off the table here. Poor coaching has led to a bad football team with poor execution in spite of its talent. Which is frustrating - it's like having the very best clay in the hands of the very worst sculptors.
For me, barring this team making a complete and sustained 180 from yesterday, I hope Les retires this year. It might be after the season is over. It might be during the season if we get another dud or two like this in SEC play. Whenever it is, I hope he has the dignity and honor to know it is his time and to accept that and allow LSU to move forward quickly to put it in the best possible position to get a top notch replacement. Jimbo Fisher...Tom Herman...either would be terrific.
Geaux Tigers.

Congrats, it's because of people like yourself that Miles was kept for another year to waste the most talented team we have had since 05.

Not trying to be an a-hole here, but damn you. People like you, who cheered on Miles as he was carried off the field after beating A&M, are partly responsible for this wasted season. You are enablers.
But at least you have the balls to admit it when you were wrong, even Les can't do that.

Best chance for Herman, we need Texas to win today and Houston to lose to Louisville later this season.
Would be a home run hire.

frick that. He doesn't deserve to coach one more game. He made enough money now do the right thing.....resign.

I came to this conclusion last year. After yesterday's ridiculously bad and embarrassing performance, I'm actually gonna stop watching. Looking forward to improving the golf game on nice Fall Saturdays instead of blowing the whole day on football and being disappointed over and over again. I'm just sick of it and done. Go Tigers.

Aside from what did or did not happen at the end of last year, 1 thing needs to happen asap...Peveto should have been fired on the plane home, and the scholly's revoked from the K and the P....there should be an open tryout for those positions.

I was told it was because of budget reasons
And you know damn well it's because JA mismanaged the situation and public opinion. He should have done it like Georgia did

Yep. The fans that cheered him and the media that came to the rescue are responsible for this. Lsu should have done what was best for lsu. Instead they decided to keep the dude on payroll so they wouldn't look mean. And it will still take rock bottom for some of these idiots to see the light.

quote:That would be too honorable. He's passed on similar opportunities. Ain't happening. Still pissed at the man since 1-9-12. No - I don't forget.
I hope Les retires this year.

I think you nailed it...But the thing for him to do is exactly like Spurrier did...retire and admit the fire is gone.

That was the worst punting I've ever seen. What happened to solid les miles special teams?

Miles just might retire, who knows. His son will be graduating from Catholic this year and he might want to be dad and watch from the stands. I agree with what you wrote in how I hope it goes down.
Bottom line, this is not a political thing. So Louisiana's elected officials need to stay the frick out of it. And F. King owes Alleva the rubber stamp on whoever he decides to hire, no questions asked.

This!
If LSU had accidentally won the game yesterday by pulling some damn miracle out of Miles arse, I'm sure the OP would be on here saying, "we won", "1 -0", "be happy", "negatigers" bla bla bla.
Yesterday's game was no different than 90% of the games over the last 4 seasons against inferior teams excep that the end result was a loss.
Stupid Miles pumpers were just to damn blind, stupid or delusional to see the king was wearing no clothes.
I'm glad some of them have finally pulled their heads out of their asses, but now it's just too damn late.

admit the fire is gone.

The same thing that happened to:
Aggressive play calling.
Bowl record.
Non-conference wins.
Season openers.
Competitiveness with Alabama year to year.
Dominance over lower tier to middle SEC teams like Ole Miss, Arkansas and Moo state.
There really is nothing left for Les to hang his stupid hat on.

Yes Herman would be great but we better have a plan b, c and d ready.
Bobby petrino is a douche but he wins. And we already have a good guy.
