Bama Florida gets higher ratings than LSU Florida ect

Yes, CBS gets first pick for 2:30
Why would they show 7pm football games every week in prime time when other shows do better with ratings and get higher paying sponsors?

If an LSU/FLORIDA, LSU/ALABAMA was scheduled during that time, I'm sure the rating would be great. Just as strong as their normal network lineup.
You'd be wrong
what ratings did LSU-UF get in 2007?

Bama and Florida prime time have done better than LSU Florida in prime time the past few years.
Are you going to argue this?
Are you that stupid?

Golfer had the Nielsen ratings.
But I'd guess absolutely.

quote:i disagree. i think lsu puts more people on campus for a longer period of time than any other school. i've been to every campus at least once except for ark and scar and i'm pretty sure they don't compare to bama, lsu, flor, geor
you dont know shite

well probably b/c most people will see LSU is favored by a ton over auburn and not want to turn in. but how about LSU-bama in a couple weeks?

Potentially, yes. But CBS also has to compete with ABC and FOX at this time of the year airing Professional Sports and Mid-West/West Coast/East Coast matchups.

Here's a snippet from the sec espn article:
quote:
Combined with the 15-year, $55 million a year that the SEC will receive from CBS for the over-the-air package of games (SportsBusiness Journal, Aug. 18-24), the conference will bring in an average of $205 million annually in media rights beginning in 2009-10 and running through fiscal 2025.
That’s nearly three times what the SEC had been receiving in TV revenue as part of its current deal, which runs out next spring. That amounted to around $70 million per year.

I'm telling you that a Hawaii 5-0 repeat costs them almost nothing in comparison to the investment that is a live college football broadcast.
It's more than just a ratings game.
CBS is more than just a sports network. They have a varied list of programming priorities.

It'll do well, bama and LSU.
But not as well as their normal shows.

CBS' current contract with one Primetime game went with the safe bet. At the time of the decision, LSU had a backup QB and played Oregon, WVU, UF, and the Defending National Champion before that game.

It'd much much more complicated than what you are making this..
CBS does not hate LSU
Posted on 10/18/11 at 11:13 am to Golfer
ok but im saying why is that their current contract to show only one? i can understand not showing one every week, but only 1 doesn't make much sense.
Posted on 10/18/11 at 11:15 am to TheDoc
I don't give a crap what else anyone says, but frick CBS and them screwing with important night games in Tiger Stadium. It's a sad day when the television stations control college football scheduled more than the college's themselves.
