With our game plan in this game we loose with either QB.

2 offenses had success vs UA- LSU and GSU and that was with ground based attack schemes.

I don't recall him making a lot of mistakes. He was a pretty damn good game manager and an underrated passer.

Miles lost that game for us. I'm not sure anybody could've made something positive out of that shitty arse game plan. Besides, whomever else we had would've just sat the bench like Lee did.

I recall how well a sophisticated Hog pass O did vs the Gumps and everybody thinks it was the answer for NCG.

That was at Alabama and Ark didn't have near the running game that LSU has.

LSU had a running game 1-9-12?
Like a yard and a half per carry.
The Gumps were fired up from 1st kickoff, and LSU was lethargic all game. They just didn't show up.
May's Drew Brees comment summed it up nicely regarding the QB position.

Wow, you are a bright one, you can read stats. Too bad that has nothing to do with the discussion at hand or my comment. I was going to add its easier to shut down a one dimensional offense.

The comment I was responding to said LSU having an elite passing game would not have mattered and he used Arks bad showing vs Bama as proof they can shut down a good passing attack. The difference is, with Ark, they didn't have to worry about stopping the run and could just concentrate on the pass. Vs LSU with a better QB (JR, RD, MM, MF), they would have had to worry about both. Get it?

Top add another QB to the mix, what would this tean have been like with Herb Tyler? He could actually run and was a good leader.

Oklahoma, like Bama this year, was the top rated defense in the NCAA. I think they had a more potent offense than Bama as well.

In 03 against ranked teams, Mauck's td / int ratio was horrible. I think he went 4 Tds and 12 int. ]

Only one I can say with 100% confidence that we'd take Bama to the shed that night is with JR at QB. In my 31 years of my lifetime, I haven't seen a guy in P&G that even comes close to the talent this guy displayed.

I'm about 70% confident we win with Flynn. 50% with RP or Davey. 30% with Mauck. No chance in hell beyond that.

Why do some posters think Flynn was this great qb at LSU. He was average and had some horrible games. The only sure wins are JR and Rohan. Both were far better than Flynn.
