I have a feeling that you are just being dense for the sake of an argument.

Usually the first sign of a lack of critical thinking skills is to jump to an insult.

quote:

Fine, explain to me how us playing UF again in the conference championship is in any way similar to us playing Bama in the national championship.

It's a rematch, they already won in the regular season.

This same argument you are trying to use was common when the SECCG started.

Not my fault you are in essence trolling, because what you're claiming is ridiculous.

they already won in the regular season.

Won what? Can you win the SEC without winning your division and then winning the championship game?

The format is best from the east vs best from the west. A rematch is possible in that situation.

In the national scale, a team not from our conference with an equal or better resume deserves a chance over a team already beaten from within our own division.

Haha actually it does... our 2 losses were both 2OT games... We went from #7 to #2 after going 1-1 during the final 2 games.

I love this new for 2011 metric of prettier loss. It is THE ONLY REASON (/Peej mode) Bama was let into the big game.

And that's exactly why it was emphasized above every other measurable factor last year.

No it doesn't.

Hmmm, maybe other teams lost. What does that have to do with our losses? That's right, nothing.

Oh, bullshite. Bama was hands down one of the top two teams. Not one of you whining pussies would have put real money on Ok St against Bama if I gave you 10 points.

Bama clearly deserved to be there; we had a chance to prove we were true champions; and we weren't up to it. And anyone who wanted the easier way out is a pussy.

Yea, Okie Lite winning the Big 12 is exactly like Hawaii.

What has Okie St done thats been impressive in the past 20 years?? Nothing. They are a fairely young program that just started winning. Kansas was 11-1 in 2007, but you dont see anybody bitching about them not getting in.

Well, you are definitely out of ammunition.

Rationalizing.

People bitched about it when it happened and have come to accept it. In time, you will too. The best two teams met for the NCG.

Well, you just keep making that up so it fits your agenda. In the real world, voters saw it differently. Most people who watch football knew Okie Light was in a different league from Bama

There was nothing structurally in place to keep the "rematch" from happening. Voters saw fit to put the two best teams together, as most feel it should be.

Look at the rankings of teams OSU beat last year, and the strength of their conference as a whole. Does it in anyway resemble the WAC from 2007? Didn't think so.

Probably because in that year the Big 12 was not as strong as the SEC, strange how things can change from one year to the next.

There really was no denying that the two best teams played in January...regardless of where your heart lies. It's just a bitch to play a team that powerful and win two in a row. We will trade with Bama for the next 5 years.

EXACTLY... Last year it was wide open for anyone to get into the NCG. We were pretty much a lock so there was 1 spot left. What happened? Everyone else in the nation LOST... therefore Bama gets in because everyone else LOST.

Pretty sure I won't need to, seeing as the BCS has been tweaked to basically eliminate this ever happening again after last year.

So you put zero stock into rankings over the course of the year? It's just the eyeball and name test for you?

If Oregon and ND lose and LSU and Florida win out. We play Florida in the SECCG...what if we win? Then what? It could be a a best out of three scenario. Do you think people would be pissed or what?

That could be interesting, a "threematch."

Anyone? Really? There were teams other than OSU and Bama that realistically could be put in?

Just like Bama did.

You mean because they are Bama.

It is an undisputable fact that voters put Bama in the NC, overcoming the computers who favored Okie. So, it's not bullshite. And they didn't deserve to be there, for all the many reasons found in this thread. And I don't think we're pussies for not wanting to have to beat Bama twice, while they only had to beat us once.

We should have lost that first game, then we would be National Champions!

Actually Bama would just have played Okie State and won because they are Bama and we are LSU.

We will never be the media darlings. Lord, I hope we never are.

The name test, ie. Bama is more deserving because they are Bama.

Okay, Thunder, just give me one honest answer. If Ok St had faced Bama at the end of last year how many points would you have had to get before you bet OSU? If you say less than seven I will, of course, respect your integrity, but I won't have a very high opinion of your handicapping.
