9 months later...how ridiculous was the BCS NC selection?

I accept the fact that we lost the game, there's really no denying it. But now that I've had some time and space from that horrifying event, I still really don't understand how or why we were forced to play Bama a second time. Do you remember watching ESPN that night and the weeks prior to the selection? It was almost comical how they pushed an pushed for the rematch.
I get LSU and Bama might have been the two best teams, but how can you force us to beat a team we already had in the regular season? At their place no less. The best team doesn't always get to play for it all, see the Saints or Packets last year.
I don't feel as pissed off about it as I used to be, moreso just disappointed that last years teams chances of being considered one of the greatest college teams of all time was spoiled by an agenda to force Bama into that game.
TLDR version: does it feel as ridiculous now as it did then that we were forced to play Bama a 2nd time after beating them at home?

No. They were the next best team behind us period and it wasn't even close! They deserved the shot and took advantage of the opportunity

How would you like for a one loss LSU team to be left out of the NC game this year because some team with a BS schedule ended up higher in the polls due to being the late season media darling.

Get over it already, guy. If you want to bitch about something then bitch about all of the teams that were in front us that lost in the weeks following Nov 5th. If you think that a team that lost to Iowa f'n State should have played for the NC, then i dont know what to tell ya.

Didn't okie st. when their comference and bama didn't even win the division. Sorry but bama had no right being their even in 03 Saban said you have to win your conference to play in the ship.

If our one loss was to the other team in the championship game and they already beat us in our house, I would not be bothered at all.

I agree and would bet my life on it. However, you can't prove that beyond a doubt. You can't prove that Bama was better that OSU, Oregon, etc.
You can make one hell of an educated guess but you can't say it with 100% certainty. That's why the rematch was BS.

Let's get over it people. What really pissed me off is that weeks after the BCSNCG all these great "analysts" like Mark May and Lou Holtz were saying that everyone really wanted to see Bama vs Ok State in the game.
Just totally disregard that LSU had one of the best regular season runs ever.

I'm not crying about, I'm just looking back with some perspective. This is really the first time I ever posted on this subject in here because I had always gone the bury and never think about it again route.
But yeah, look at that graphic comparing OSU to Bama. They lost by one missed FG on the road. Wasn't Bamas excuse for not winning our game missed FGs? But apparently they were the better team and lost by a fluke

BCS sucks. The human element needs to begone. We aren't the first team to be fricked. At least we had a chance. 2004 auburn will always wonder "what if".
Sure you can use "what if we played Oregon state" as a retort. But we had our chance and I blame miles and the team for the shite show we witnessed. Not to sound negatiger. But that's who the loss rests upon. The team didn't prepare.
Was it fair we had to play them after beating them at their home? No. Was it fair we had to contend to play a team we already beat while they sat back and enjoyed the show? No. But the loss and what the staff put on the field was on them.
