That’s what I’m thinking. Makes no sense. This certainly hurts crowd size and atmosphere

Ole Miss and Tennessee BOTH get 5pm starts.
It sucks. Does ESPN think they’re getting a bigger draw by putting our game so late and that’s the reasoning? Powerhouse of college baseball LSU on upset alert in a game 7 against a 27-33 Little Rock team. Should draw a lot of neutrals I suppose is the reasoning

In the Eastern time zone, and I want to go full Kevin O'Sullivan on these schedulers. Was pretty rough getting up after being up until after 1am.

Would it really have been that difficult for ESPN to move the matchup of 2 West Coast teams in USC vs Oregon State to the later, more appropriate time slot?

I’m lucky being out on the west coast. It is weird though that I’m listening/watching the game at 9 pm or later local time here.

WHY TF is LSU the ROAD Team AGAIN??

Jesus, this stuff is all laid out by rule. Both teams have been the home team twice, but LSU has been the road team only once, whereas Little Rock has been the road team two times. Therefore, BY RULE Little Rock is the home team tonight. How some of you function in the real world is hard to fathom.

I thought the rule was- lower seed (or loser bracket, not sure which) would be home team tonight, and if needed tomorrow would be coin flip to determine. I could be wrong...

it goes by how many times each team has been home/visitor.
NCAA Regional Play

quote:

For first-round games, the highest-seeded team shall be designated as the home team. In subsequent games, the home team shall be determined according to a formula applied by the games committee. In determining which of two teams in any game will be the home team, the games committee or the NCAA site representatives uses the following guidelines:

1. The institution that has been the home team the fewer number of times in that particular tournament shall be designated the home team.
2. If the two teams are equal in this respect but unequal in the number of times they were the visitor, then the team that has been the visitor more often will be designated the home team.

both teams have been home twice, so it moves to next criteria.
LR has been the visitor twice, and LSU only once. So LR is home team tonight

Its a dumb rule. Host should be the home team always. Its why they are the host.

But hopefully LSU doesn't sleep walk through this one and the crowd is in it. Thats all that should matter at home.

No reason it couldn't be a 6pm start. This is horse shite.

Someone is going to have to explain this 8:00 shite to me, I just don't get the reasoning. Again, I don't recall ESPN forcing 8:00 starts in the past in this time zone? Am I misremembering?
