8-2... and Tiger fans still whining. The Delusion is Real!

If anyone had told you at the start of the season that we’d be 8-2 at this point...would you have taken it? HELL YES!
Look around college football. Look around the SEC. Other than the likes of Bama, UGA, Clemson etc....who has NOT struggled at some point?!? Heck, even the mighty Urban got spanked by Purdue. Purdue!
Quit all the whining and enjoy this season for what it is: a rebuilding year. We end up in a major bowl game and Win and most reasonable fans will be very happy. But given the delusion around hear I know some are still going to be whining about Bama and not winning a natty.

Yay. This thread again.

It’s not really the 8-2 that’s being complained about. It’s the continued frustration of the lackluster offense that LSU seems to struggle with year after year.
Some blame Orgeron, some blame Ensminger, some blame Alleva, some blame the players.
As it is frustrating, it’s also expected. No coach has completely turned around a team in a couple of seasons, and even the great Lord Saban has lost games to inferior opponents or had games run close.
Most of it is an entitled mentality of being a past championship contender.
Bottom line is, until we start making the CFPs more regularly the pessimist crowd will never stop doing what they do best. Complaining.

104 offense in nation, if we had coaching we would BE competing with BAMA and Clemson, sad what our fan base has come to expect, Les was fired for 10 win seasons.

Ah the go to for the last what 6 or 7 years. Next year U I guess LSU should just set top expectations at a 10 wins a year and a trip to the chicken bowl in Atlanta. Let the big boys worry about the playoffs. All we are saying is put a freaking OC in place that can give us a chance to make the playoff. We have been saying that forever under Miles and Now O

Ed just took over. Why does he not get a chance to get his pieces in place? This has nothing to do with next year U.

So the pieces that he is out there looking for are excited about the look of this offense?
Or is he showing them the binder that has the actual offense he wants when the pieces get there?

In what universe is a 9 win team from the previous year expected to rebuild?
This team has exceeded expectations that most people had. But when I look at LSU's roster every year, the only team I ever see where I don't say "LSU SHOULD win this game" is Alabama. And this year Georgia was a lone exception to that rule, as that was not a team I thought LSU was more talented than.
But the thing that has carried this team has been defense and special teams (except for the return game). We know who runs that show, and it isn't Orgeron or Ensminger; the two guys taking all the heat. What are they doing to ensure that this team EVER gets over the Bama hump? Or at least puts out a product on offense that can compete with them?
When we look back at how the teams on LSU's schedule have performed, who really SHOULDN'T they have beaten outside of Georgia? How many times has LSU gone into November as a top ten ranked team, only to finish at the bottom or outside of the top 25? And yet, every year people keep defending Miles/Orgeron by talking about our record and ranking in November.

The ultimate goal is to win the west and or be in the playoff and this is not attainable with the current system in place as far as offense is concerned. Yes the delusion is real with some.

What these Rantards will never get is just what a precarious situation LSU was in. They will never give credit to Orgeron for going out and bringing in a QB and several othee players who without them 8-2 and Top 10 ranking was IMPOSSIBLE.
Where the fuk are the Narcisse fans now? UPDATE: Narcisse is not even the starter at his JUCO. He splits time and has completed 44 of 98 passes with 3 TDs and 3 INTs. A roughly 45% completion percentage in JUCO but these geniuses were all in on NARCISSE and calling Orgeron and Ensminger stupid, etc.
Well, Orgeron is 8-2 against one of the toughest schedules in the country and has a realistic shot at 10-2 and a Major Bowl game. Anyone would have taken this situation before the season started. Now we hear these constant complainers bitch yet again. You can't have a logical discussion with illogical people. Some sa called fans look for anytug hing to bitch about no matter how much there is to be happy about. It is simply their personality and outlook on life in general.

Good grief.
It’s been discussed ad nauseum.
NO ONE is upset we are 8-2. But just because the record is better than many expected does not mean this team does not have serious issues on the coaching staff. Especially on offense.
There is no reason at all for LSU to be this bad on one side of the ball.
That’s what continues to frustrate people. The fact that with just a competent offense we would be better than 8-2 and have a real legimoshot at the playoff.

Because he’s not putting the pieces in place on offense. This is the end of his second year, and it’ll be year 4 before we see drastic change at the earliest. Don’t piss on our legs and tell us it’s raining.

Preseason #25 and now has us #7. Our bad loss is to Florida. Exceeded all preseason expectations, but not even close to good enough for deLuSion U fans.
A&M and FSU were not rebuilding jobs either.

Ed just took over
This is his essentially his third year as HC.
And he did not take over a complete rebuild despite the new narrative.
And even if it is a rebuild, it’s Ed’s fault. He’s been in charge of recruiting for what 4 years now. Any talent issues belong to him.

rebuilding year
This is not a rebuilding yr,
LSU should NEVER be ranked in 90’s in any offensive category. Even if it was a rebuilding yr.
The talent that comes to LSU is better than a 90 ranking.
I said at the beginning of the yr the oline was gonna be a problem for us, that same oline played incredible against a good UGA defense. So that tells me the oline has the ability
This offense falls on poor coaching, same with Miles.

Dude, I appreciate Joe Burrow's toughness and it isn't easy for me to criticize his play as a result... But the fact is that he has been well below average.
If you believe that getting him here was some miraculous, season saving move, by Orgeron, than your expectations are lower than mine of this staff. The very fact that anyone would have to point to a guy with 7 TD's and a pedestrian completion percentage as one of the centerpieces of Orgeron's brilliant moves, goes to show how little he has done. The fact that they couldn't develop anyone in house to do better, or at least AS well as Burrow, speaks volumes.
And this schedule was not nearly as tough as we all thought it was going to be. I give the entire team and staff full credit for what they did to Georgia. That game truly was exciting and heartening. But then they went back into a shell.

So that’s the standard now? Let’s exceed analysts’ preseason expectations? Must work wonders on the recruiting trail.
