But to say that game was the slaughter they put on us in 08 just isn't being accurate.

no one said it was a slaughter. I watched that game yesterday on CBS CS and at no point was Fla in danger of losing the game. They played it tight because of TT's injury. We were much closer to losing to MSU, Ark and UGA than we were to beating Fla or Bama, not matter how "close" the score was. Beside, moral victories are for 2nd rate programs. When you win 2 NC in a decade, you no longer count "moral" victories.

I'm sorry that you are either unable or afraid to use your brain. It wasn't a horrible season, but it wasn't a great one either. We played really well, complete games twice Tulane (yippie) and Auburn. We were extremely luck to win at MSU and probably benefited from a lame call on UGA, plus Arkansas. Yeah, we were 9-3, but we didn't beat a ranked team. and throw out the 3 in state scrubs and we are 6-3. 10-9 vs bcs teams and 8-8 in the SEC the last 2 years is mediocre. Which for a program like LSU is in fact horrible.

Quality of wins... or in this case - who he consistently cannot beat.

Last 2 years vs. Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas: 1 win - 7 losses

Can you use twisted logic like this to prove your belief that the world is flat too? I would not be surprised.

huh? Did you watch the games last year? What about the play last year gives you hope? The 112 ranked offense? I'm sorry that you and so many others see things only in the extreme (great or horrible, slaughter of close game) Last year's 9-3 is not all that impressive when you break it down, sorry you can't accept that.

The new sheriff in town (Saban) and the rest of the SEC West don't care about 51-15. They just helped turn 34-6 into 17-9, 8-8, and 0-6. They don't care about what happened 3 years ago.

and neither should the people on here considering LSU is nowhere near where we were from 05-07. If we had gone 70 - 80% in SEC play since I could see defending Miles, but not 50%.

Its horrible when you compare it to what Miles showed he could do here at LSU. He started off 34-6(18-6), but then over the past 2 years he has gone 17-9(8-8). If he goes undefeated this year i guess he will get that back up to 31-9, but the fact that he has to rely on and undefeated season to get back within the ball park of his first 3 years here as head coach is not good by any means. I agree the record showed improvement this year, but man oh man are you living off of that 9-3 record with the 112th ranked offense.

No matter how much you think there are astricks by last years record and the NC we won 2 years ago the fact remains that there are none.
W=win. The only stat that matters is who has more points at the end of the game. I don't give a damn if we win the game 3-2 or 2-0. The "W" counts just as much as winning the game 90-0.
