And yeah that was without Chiasson, Fehoko, Fulton, Joseph and Battle.

And was still significantly better than the offense.

AND he was hampered by only having two first round draft picks in this years NFL draft - possibly two top 10 picks in Greedy and White.

And he only had possibly two more first round picks in Delpit and Fulton. No telling how many players from this defense will go in the top three rounds.

That is just rough. A huge disadvantage.

Now, the offense was loaded, returned EVERY player from the previous year and has possibly 10 or more first round picks on that side of the ball since some of the backups will also go in the first round.

For Aranda drawing the short stick like he did as far as talent goes, to have his defense perform significantly better than the offense was miraculous. Must have been because of some divine or supernatural intervention

That talent came to play for him.

Seriously. He just completed his 3rd year. Greedy and White just completed their 3rd year. But, I'm sure they had a long relationship with each other while he was at Wisconsin.

The IRONIC thing here is that one of the coaches you continually try to bash was the actual recruiter for both of those players. They are both in his recruiting area and he was the primary recruiter for one and the secondary for the other.

Yes, Slinger recruited both of Aranda's best players for this season. Weird isn't it?

If Slinger’s only job was recruiting and people were bashing him for recruiting that would be almost ironic.

But neither of those things are true.

So it’s not ironic.

Tiger Ree...

What the frick are you talking about.

He had great players and gave us a great defense.

Ensminger has good players and gave us a dog shot offense.

He still needed to be a good coach. Look how much talent was on the team in 2015, and we were still shitty on defense.

You're wasting your time. Their minds are made up. You'd get better results arguing with a brick wall. You'll never get them to admit the obvious. When you're arguing with a liar you'll always be at the disadvantage because you feel the need to tell the truth while they operate from a totally different place. Everybody knows the truth but will never admit it because that would take away some of their best anti O ammunition.

No, the ironic part was you saying the players came to LSU because of Aranda who had never coached one game at LSU.

AND it was actually Slinger who recruited both of the players that you thought came to LSU because of Aranda. Also ironic that the defense's best players were indeed recruited by the offensive coordinator you love to hate.

It's almost like Slinger should get some credit for the defense outperforming his offense since the best defensive players were brought in by him.

1. Never said Aranda brought in White or Greedy.

2. Ensminger is a good recruiter. Not taking that away from him.

3. Slinger should gets lots of credit for the defense outperforming his offense considering he should get a little credit for bringing in White and Greedy and a lot of credit for thenoffense being so fricking bad.

Good Lord, Sammy. I realize the offense could have been better, but don't you think saying stuff like "they were so fricking bad" is a little over the top?

They were rated 104th past the midway point in the season. What would you call that?

Ok...

We were 92nd in the countrynin YPP
81st in YPG
72 in TDs including 5 OT scores and 2 Decensive TDs.

In regulation we scored under 29 PPG

So yeah... we were pretty bad.

But we had a great kicker.

Maybe I should have worded my post different. I think the point can be made better without have to say "so fricking bad." It wasn't good and there's no way around that. I was speaking more to the wording. Seems like people take to the conversation better if stuff like that is avoided.

That’s fair enough, but people also take conversations better when they aren’t called hypocrites and people don’t ignore the obvious.

Yeah. You never really know about a lot of those posted 40 times. What do they really mean, and how accurate are they?

We’ll just have to wait and see how he does covering one of those 4.3 guys.

That's also true. I'm still under this delusion that one day we will all be able to talk about sports without having LSU fans attacking other LSU fans and IMO avoiding the wording I mentioned is a good start.

Well I said it actually, not Sammy.

Regardless of who brought who in, we have to ask that our coaches take responsibility for the performance of their units. It's only fair.

Why do you have a problem with Ensminger taking responsibility for the offense? I think even he would tell you that he could do a better job than he did.

And unlike you apparently, I expect him to do a damn good job this next season, because I know he's capable of it. Do you not believe in his ability?

The way you act right now seems like you think that he did the best that he can do, which is actually bashing him.

How did a thread about signing a great recruit for 2020 turn into a debate on Aranda vs Ensminger?

Someone said never doubt O

Then someone said long way to go

Then someone said “he just signed the #4 class and you’re still doubting him”

Then Goldrush said we know he can recruit when are we going to start asking dornon the field results?

Then someone called everyone who ahitnon Ensminger hypocrite for not holding Aranda accountable for failing to live up to expectations and here we are.

Summary

Topwater Troutnis still beating the drum to compare a top 25 defense to a dumpster fire offense in the realm of not living up to expectations

Tiger Ree thinks that Ensminger is responsible for The Defense being good so we should stop shitting on him about the offense.
