The 49ers this year have some distinct similarities to last years LSU team. Defense first team that struggled on offense from time to time. Controversial QB change mid-year to a more athletic QB. That QB gets them to the championship game.

If they get shut-out by the Ravens, will Harbaugh be criticized?

2011 LSU didn't really struggle on offense except for the first half of Georgia, Bama 2x, and part of the WV game. Plus, we blew out every team we played except for Alabama. Not the same kind of regular season. I know its the NFL and competition is a lot more leveled, but still.

Yeah, I don't see it.

The 49ers have a good quarterback.

Except for SF, the offense got better after the change, for LSU the offense looked much worse following the QB change.

Did you watch the first half of the Arkansas game? BTW the second half of the UGA wasn't much better offensively, our QB ended the game with less than 50 yds. passing. Our defense and special teams set up 20 yard drives, but the offense really never looked good after the change.

Yeah did you?

We had 170 yards of offense in the 2nd quarter and 2 touchdowns and had a 21-14 lead at halftime. How is that stuggling?

did you? the 1st qtr was bad, but we got rolling in the 2nd qtr. Ford's fumble was really the only bad thing.

but there's not much defending the QB playing the SECCG, which imo was worse than the BCS game.

anyway, overall, it does look as though the Niners QB gamble has given their offense a fairly consistent upgrade; ours not so much.

Something tells me that if Kaepernick (sp?) cannot get the 49ers across midfield in the first half and looks confused and bewildered ... Harbaugh will try something different.

We had 24 yards in the first quarter and spotted Arkansas a defensive TD. We had two nice drives in the second qtr, but not exactly a great half of offense.

If it didn't happen in the Atlanta game, it will not happen in the Superbowl.
