Saban went 13-1 and Les went 12-2.... Les IS more
He also followed up his titles with 8-5 (with Blugrass Miracle to get that) and 9-3 (with a stupid loss to Iowa and a near miss to at home, you guessed it, Troy). Way to keep that train rollin. Even Lord Saban is suseptable to the rebuilding years.

For some small perspective
3 years before Bear, Bama was 4-24, Ears Whitworth era.
3 years before Les, Lsu was 30-9, Saban era.
Having said that. to Les, he's kicking arse!

Comparing Les Miles to Paul Bear Bryant!?!?
Well, through the first 50 games. What's wrong with that?

I know denial can be tough but let me reiterate... YES, NICK SABAN IS THE HEAD COACH AT ALABAMA
While the thread is not really about that subject, your coach hasn't coached 50 games at Bama, yet. However, he's on pace to exceed the Bear's first 50 as well. He was only 37-13 through 50 games here (and finished 48-16). He may not coach 50 games at Bama, because Notre Dame will certainly make him an offer that Sexton will be unwilling to ignore.

Returning to your 1990's prominence of sub par at best shouldn't be too painful. What was the score late in the 3rd to powerhouse Troy? Oh that's right, 31-3
Where to begin with this - Since Johnny Vaught Ole Miss has done nothing of note to even have the stroke to say anything to LSU. The 1990s were the anomaly at LSU. This is opposed to Ole Miss, which if it doesn't have a coach named Vaught or a QB named Manning isn't $HIT - Okay?
And the last time I checked, we don't count the score of a game UNTIL IT'S OVER, something that is a foreign concept in Oxford.

Seriously wondering what Miles' record will be here in the next fifty games? If he goes 41-9 again, or something very close to it, then I think no one can criticize him, or talk about winning with somebody else's players. But no doubt, the next fifty will be a hell of a lot tougher, if for no other reason than there are just better coaches in the league now, which means better players and teams, and 11 win seasons consecutively in the SEC will be damn hard to accomplish.

Football is a 4 quarter game, you fricktard. That's why OM sucks balls every year. You guys are giddy about "moral victories" and seasons that end with NO championships being billed as "a return to greatness by OM football".

When was the last time anyone scored 30 in a quarter???
Oh, and it was actually 37 in 13 minutes.
Posted on 11/18/08 at 9:56 am to triplesauce
2.84 points per minute if we're getting technical.
