I sure thought the coach was down low waving both hands down giving Curiel the sign to slide. Sounds like others saw something different; would love to see it again.

He was pointing two fingers at the bag.

Slide is more demonstrative. Get down motion.

As a HS coach I’ve stood in that box for 30 years. I can’t speak for other coaches, but if I wasn’t being overly animated telling Curiel to get down at third, I would consider it my fault.

The play everytime is to run as hard as you can to the bag and slide.
.

This is absolutely wrong. You slide if necessary; a ball gets away from the defense you can head home a hell of a lot easier if you’re on your feet and not laying on the ground.

Starting Ware was also a mistake. Cost you a run.

Yep. In that situation a good 3rd base coach is waving his arms up and down like a maniac, maybe on a knee smacking the ground

But LSU does not have a good 3rd base coach

The ball to left for the triple was a crazy ball it landed off the top of the wall it would have been a hard catch regardless

The 2 outs at third were both on the runners. I thought CJJ would argue obstruction on 3rd baseman for braswell. He had no where to go. Curiel was just lazy going to bag but third baseman was still blocking bag before ball was received. I was hoping jones would have his chance to go to third and see if he would concede the out like the other 2 or yea h third baseman to not stand in the tracks when the train is coming thru.

I still think Braswell was safe.

No idea what the deal was with Curiel - I couldn’t tell what signal the coach was giving.

I didn’t go back and watch it but it looked to me that the tag was still on Braswell briefly as he overslid the bag.

He specifically held his left hand up telling him not to slide

You can tell motions by looking at still images?

Jordan starts to raise his arm (image you posted), then immediately lowers it when the LF throws towards 3B. Both arms are down when Curiel is still far enough away to slide.

In my opinion he’s pointing at the bag which doesn’t tell the runner anything other than don’t overrun or round the base. Pointing at the bag doesn’t mean slide.
