And I'll say again that #43 was not being blocked toward the inside (and had pushed Peterson back beyond the five-yard line), so he was probably gonna get any outside action. I believe the run was designed for the inside if you look at the blocking on the play.

If you watch the play, he had the whole right side open and ran directly into the defenders. Doesn't matter where it was designed.

so most of us believe we had time to run 3 plays. i certainly believe that. we ran ONE. and if TBob hadn't snapped the ball that's all we would have run. i am one of the most supportive fan of miles you'll run into (check my posts) but there isn't a way in hell i would not fire whoever decided to get cute and cut our plays down from three to one. it's just unacceptable. if you can't fire him in midseason, i'd fire him by giving someone else his duties and let him set up in teh booth and play with himself.

I've seen the play over and over. I was like you at first (thinking he should have taken the outside). And I agree that it doesn't matter where the play is designed to go sometimes. I just think #43 was playing the outside and had driven Peterson back. And he still got a hand on JJ when he went inside. I think if JJ goes around Peterson, that guy gets him. If JJ cuts before Peterson but tries to angle toward out of bounds, then he might have had a better chance (though #43 would still have a chance at grabbing him). But oh well... I'm just glad we got in eventually.

agree. my only issue with the play is that ridley sprints out as a lead blocker and the whole defense knows jj has to run. everyone can commit to him and those odds are not good. play action, rollout, or zone read would have given us a chance to manipulate the defense and make them guard against multiple options.

JJ had no where to go outside.

Deangelo had his man blocked to the outside, if JJ goes that way, he has to give up ground....giving more than enough time for 84 and 56 to put him in a negative yardage situation.

The only good thing that could have happened is JJ running out of bounds at about the 3.....

You folks act as if fast defenders are not flowing down the line.

Our coaches set JJ and the entire offense up to fail by not having a quick pass play ready to run on 3rd & Goa

He said "could" have happened...he didn't say it was likely with Tenn. defenders going after him and JJ wanting to get in the end zone.

OLB Savion Frazier #43 had contain. Peterson was trying to block him out. Frazier forced Jefferson inside and then came down on him.

Jefferson was forced inside into MLB Nick Reveiz #56 (red circle) who was unblocked. (Williford had a tough block and missed him.)

Jefferson never had a chance once Williford missed the block on Reveiz.
