your correct!! Gave up 3 or 4 3rd and long for 1st downs. No excuse for a defense with that much talent to be giving up those types of plats.

I have a sneaking suspicion there is more to this than meets the eye.

Has it ever dawned on any of you that this team has almost always gotten a stop when it needed to then all of a suddden they give up plays they just stopped easily?

We didn't get a single stop vs Texas in the 2nd half. Compare that to OU's run and gun offense and their defense. Considering OU ranks 9th in the nation on 3rd down defense after playing Texas says a lot.

UF had their best offensive performance against an FBS team against LSU in Tiger Stadium. What does that indicate?

Vandy minus the turnover scores still had their best offensive performance against LSU.

Again, I'm not going to overreact, but to continue to play the "all is well card" is ridiculous. The defense says they need to do better, O does and Aranda does too. Why have we suddenly decided to settle for "just OK"?

I still have faith in Aranda and the defense. He's too smart and they are too talented for this to continue, but we need a solid defensive game outside of GA Southern and USU to determine the defense is where it should be.

A simple question. Is anyone concerned that if we have a game where the offense doesn't score 35-40+ that the defense is going to cost us a game?

Don't you think Florida made offensive adjustments at half? I'm certain they expected certain adjustments and tried to counter them in advance. It's Dan Mullen, who is pretty a damned good offensive guy.

LSU is ranked 38th in opponent 3rd down conversion, which is 34%

And Bama is a only a mere 3 spots up from us playing subpar teams

People who are saying 3rd and Aranda have long-term memory loss and don’t remember what the defense was really like under Chavis

They are also showcasing their ignorance and lack of understanding of the game.

LSU just needs to shore up those 3rd downs and get healthy....Aranda will do the rest.

gotta get better at getting off the field on 3rd

EXACTLY! You want to rest, and catch your breath? Then scheme and execute better on 3d down, and get off the darn field, period.
