Don’t disagree, just pointing out how connected this team was, and what leadership was out there. Just a look/stare; no ranting raving, showing one up, Etc. CEH was responsible for that block, after the handoff, fake. He didn’t get there in time. Joe let him know he needed him to do better, and then next play.....3rd and 17....

That was the moment I realized that we were capable of beating every team on the schedule.

There was evidence that at least LSU’s offense could keep up with the scoring allowed by Aranda’s defense.

Got to be the play of the season.

I know there are countless amazing plays this season and 3rd and 17 sure as hell may go down as the most important play of the season. But I can't but help believe the play by CEH when we needed to get 10 yards for a 1st down at the end of the Bama game and he gets hit after 5 yards and drags the entire Bama defense with him for the 1st and the game.

CEH's unlikely 1st down pick up vs. Bama

LSU still had a 12 point lead

The CEH conversion is #1 for me because bama had actually cut the lead to 6 and we had been shutout in the 2nd half to that point. Both plays could have cost us the game if they hadn't been converted.

Another thing that surprises me is Joe said he called his own plays at the line for 3rd and 3 or less. He could also check out of any play if he saw something that he didn’t like or saw an opportunity.
Les would never allow that. I heard that’s why J. Lee didn’t play in the championship game; he checked out of plays without permission.

It shows the confidence O had in Joe.

It was almost impossible for CEH to make the block when the play had him faking hand off to the left and end rush came from the right. The entire line slid to the left also to sell the fake so it made the rush lane even easier. Couldn't blame CEH for that.

The fact that we even called a pass play on 3rd and 17 in that situation was mind-boggling to veteran LSU fans and ushered in the new era of LSU football. Thank you, CEO!

Not really

It was a play fake. CEH took a fake handoff up the middle, not exactly sure how Joe thought he could do that and pickup the outside blitzer. lol

You are correct, Sir! Burrow did give CEH a stare, but there was no way for CEH to pick up that outside blitz - no way! Which, BTW, is probably why Borrow made the right decision to step up into the pocket to avoid a repeat of that sack on "3rd and 17"!

Coach O said it was the turning point of the year, or something to that effect.

It was Moss that missed the blitz on the outside, didn’t even turn his head

And what's also important to keep in mind:

A 12-1 SEC Champ LSU whose only loss was to UT in week 2 is a playoff lock.

But if LSU had lost to Bama, then no SEC West title, no SECCG, and probably out of the playoffs. Maybe they might've snuck into the #4 spot, but there's no guarantee they would've.

Joe was a true leader of that team. Players knew when they screwed up without Joe saying a word. This guy is gonna a real good pro with the right pieces.
