The further I get away from that game the more it surprises me how and why it was even close to begin with.
That 5 loss Texas Team took arguably the best team in College football to the wire.
I get they were highly ranked at the time but that was not a good team.

If I never see the Naked Bongo player on the sidelines again it will be too soon.
I've watched college football since 1957.I've never seen a college QB that ran, commanded an offense like Joe!

That was 2019’s Skyler Green catch.

Another HUGE play in that 2019 season, though not as flashy and not discussed as much, was against Auburn.
I believe it was the first series of the 2nd half. The Auburn running back (Williams?) broke free on a long run and it appeared to be a clear touchdown.
Delpit, on a sheer hustle play, ran him down and just managed to trip him up enough to cause him to step out of bounds at the nine yard line.
The defense held them to a field goal, and Delpit's hustle and refusal to give up saved LSU four points in a game LSU would go on to win by three. Just a fabulous play that seldom gets mentioned amid all the spectacular offense that year.

We probably still win, but we would not be able to say this: “In the 15 games played, against the hardest schedule ever in college football, not one opponent had the ball in the fourth quarter with a chance to take the lead”
Could have added “or tie”, except Florida briefly had the ball with about 13 minutes left in the fourth and down seven.
Couldn't FL have scored a TD and a 2-pernt conversion to take the lead by 1 in the 4th quarter?

No. They couldn’t even get a FG.
J/k. Sure that was possible. But as you said, it would have also required a two point conversion.

But it would’ve ended the argument best team ever. And after what Texas did pregame and to the band…. Glad we beat them.
