IMO, most of this is due to the OC change and playcalling philosophy, much more than any player change.

But of course, I agree that the offense is way better with Lee QBing

It really comes down to this: Would you say JJ was improved if he had started this year and performed identically as JL has so far. The rest is just speculation as to why or why not.

The answer is clearly yes, imo. And I'm not sure I care why, nor would I care if it was in fact JJ in there since game 1. I'm just excited to see some semblance of consistency at the QB position.

How about LSU has been sitting comfortably on some big leads late in games.

Mr. Jefferson's production was...awful last year and the year before. He was not the only problem at all, but his lack of productivity was a bottle neck for any hope of offensive improvement.

I have said it repeatedly, LSU must have a good passing game for the running game to be effective against 'Bama. If not, it will likely be church for the Tigers in Tuscaloosa. Thus, it is unlikely that Mr. Jefferson would be able to lead the offensive to enough points to beat SATAN. No guarantee at all the Mr. Lee will do so, but it seems more likely to me.

There should be a stat that represents the % of the field your offense travels (out of the total possible yards possible). That would put all offenses on equal footing IF people insist on comparing total yardages.

6 damn yards difference in yards per game. After 5 games and our toughest Ds coming, versus last years whole season.

Why is anyone knighting for anything.

It seems the best we got is pretty damn mediocre.

You're a moron if you can't understand that those stats are hugely skewed because of one game. It's called an outlier - please take high school level statistics.

You sir are a flaming a-hole. Please just become a fan of another school, This one is dominating everybody, ranked #1, and you're bitching.

It's not really brought down. LSU's just been consistent outside of two games. Here are their yardage in each game:

UO - 273
NWST - 400
MSU - 361
WVU - 366
UK - 348

That's pretty damn conistent around 350 yards per game..

In the first 5 games of 2010 how many teams did we play that were ranked in the top 25. Also, during the first 5 games, what was the total number of touchdown passes thrown in 2010 vs 2011?

2010----2011
24-----27
3-----3
7-----6
14----21
14----7

12.4ppg-----12.8ppg

however, we've played higher ranked opponets this year, so we'll see what happens.

I'd like to take this time to refer people to my other thread. You know, the one that enlightens people to the fact that Jarrett Lee accounted for 1/3 of those passing yards last year. So, if you're making a qb comparison, please compare a real number of about 360 to 300 ypg. Thanks.

not bitching at all.....observations.

You may need to step away.

Most everyone here has been able to offer either an explanation or their rationale. Of which, some have changed my opinion regarding the yardage.

I love LSU, Lee, Miles, even JJ sometimes.

Do you not realize how huge scoring an extra 15 points a game is? Its the difference between close games last year, and blowouts this year. Dude....15 points extra a gameis huge...it's an increase of almost 60% over last year over the first four games.

This is not quite what I was referring to, but nonetheless it reveals a similar train of thought: offensive efficiency!

total yards are irrelevant how do you not understand that? SCORING offense ranked 19th ^ that is what matters FWIW, it was 70th last season will JJ at the helm the majority of the time

You realize that you just quoted a post from a month ago, right?

Just like I said in another thread and you ran away without responding. JJ has started twice and the team has scored 42 and 52 points which is higher than the season average.

Your last season arguments are not only irrelevant but getting tiresome. Im convinced you haven't been watching the games this year and you are just repeating ranter of the day comments

I don't even look at people's post counts really Uh, oh. Gotcha now-just trying to show how much cred you deserve with all the pick apart every pimple JL has threads. But I Don't Pay Attention to Post Counts? And I obsess? Actually, when you started with your attempts to tear down JL (poorly, I might add) the entire week after he started on short notice and helped beat the #3 team in the country, on the road, I was just trying to remember if you offered your thoughtful criticisms of our QB play last year. If not, since you were obviously around then, one might suspect you have an agenda, since by most other accounts, our offense looks better than it has since 2007. But, I guess all the other people saying that are also Billy Bob morons just like me, and obviously don't have your vast knowledge of football. Post a couple of times where you critiqued JJ through those disastrous games last year and show me I'm wrong. Otherwise, you might as well quit pretending and join the other more open JJ crowd.
