Only one answer., it depends. It is definitely not as bad as broken.

Don't ask Miles, he doesn't have a backbone.

I know it's very bad but I just don't know much about it. what is the typical recovery time, long term effects, etc from this type of injury?
to reiterate I know that 3 fractured vertebrae is an awful injury; I'm just curious what the few posters with any medical background or anyone who's had something similar had to offer.
What yourself, apparently this is bogus despite the police being quoted saying this is exactly the injury they were referring to all this time.
It's just a few cracked ribs according to some geniuses on here.

Vertebrae come different ways, meaning there are different areas that could fracture. There's a "wing" on each side of the "body" that might be what they are referring to or there's a vertebral "process" that pokes out. This is usually what you see protruding, say on a person bending over to pick something up. Ligaments/ muscles attach to these, can be pretty uncomfortable.
The "wings" are called transverse processes, and the parts protruding in the posterior are called spinous processes.

Not good enough. He doesn't have the criteria to diagnose such an injury without a medical diagnosis, xray's, or MRI.
Theyve already seen the doctors notes, MRI's, x-rays.

I know exactly what they're called, I assure you.
I was trying to explain it in a way the people reading could understand and not get lost in a bunch of scientific names.
Forgive me for not copying and posting excerpts from Anatomy of the Human Body by Henry Grey.
No need to be a jerk about such things.

You mean anatomy of the human body by H.H. Holmes. Sorry, just read that book, dude was a freak. Worst serial killer in American history. Proceed.

I don't know what kind of fracture the 'victim' has, but when I was in HS, I had two "compressed fractured" vertabrae in my lower spine. This happened on the second day of school, I missed one day of school, and was playing baseball in the spring. That next summer, I was able to waterski, but my back was sore as chit for a couple of days. Since then, I have had very little problems at all, and only had any problem when straining the back without proper lifting technique or when water skiing.
Sad to say, that happened 27 years ago. But the point is, the particular injury I had wasn't debilitating. I have no idea what kind of "fractured vertabrae" the 'victim' has.

No, anatomy of the human body, better known as Grey's Anatomy. I had to get it in college.
But this isn't a book review. I agree, let's proceed.

The only one of the alleged four who may have deep pockets is Landry. And that is based 100% on potential.

How vague is it when going for 2nd degree battery? Not too vague. This guy has medical rights as well. Are we going to ask for his birth certificate next? Wouldn't be surprised with a certain population down here in LA.

i'll bet about 500,000k would make him feel a whole lot better.

I'm not a lawyer, but i think their parents can be sued for their kids' actions under certain situations.
