Which defense do you like better? Saban seems to have a good 3-4 system going, but I also having a couple of quick ends while still having two big boys pushing those holes closed in the middle.
Would you like LSU to go to a 3-4 or stay a 4-3?

There isn't a any one defense anymore. all teams use a variety of a 4-3, 3-4, 4-2-5, ect depending on the situation. we lined up in 3-4 a lot last year.

3-4 if you've got the right personnel otherwise it's a clusterfrick.

I think the real question is which do you use when you play NCAA Football? There will probably be a lot of answers based on that information...

Its based on personell.

Cody was 2 people so technically they ran a 4 -4.

IMO, Louisiana doesn't produce the linebackers to run at 3-4. Hell, we barely produce the linebackers to run the 4-3.

Our recruiting strength lies in the lines and skill positions.

This is a very good point. As said before you can't run one or the other without the appropriate personel. LSU always seems to have talented defensive lineman so should prob stick with the 4-3. Another school with those quick linebackers might feel differently. I read that UGA is switching to the 3-4 and I am very interested to see how that works for them. I don't know anything about their personel.

You disagree that LA produces more elite DL talent than elite LB talent?

As some have mentioned, all defenses vary their sets so much nowadays. Even Saban himself is far from glued to one system. He used the 4-3 almost exclusively in 2003 because of our strength on the DL. As with all things in coaching, personnel should dominate decisions.

I can't remember the last time LSU had four linebackers worthy of starting all at once. Do you? Especially not four linebackers that were better than four of our starting defensive lineman.

Need the personelle to run the scheme.

Its all about what you have and recuit in the trenches. If their is no big strong Dt that can play the 0-tech(head up on the center for you NCAA 10 fools) or the 0-tech/weak or strong shade, sometimes a 1-tech(over the inside shoulder of the guards for all you Football guys that think you know shite) then you cannot run a 3-4..and oh i believe when we run our 3 man fronts..its more of a nickel/dime/3-3-5 look..but i could be wrong i'm just an observer like the rest of ya

never said that we produce more LB talent than DL talent...

I'm just saying that you are saying that we don't produce enough talent to play 3-4 or 4- 3 and this is just inaccurate...
