LSU has an easy home 2025 SEC schedule

The conference slate will be the same, with home and away flipped.
I thought that with UT and OU joining the conference, they would play every team within the first two years

LSU home schedule next season is a joke. No big games.

I thought I heard somewhere that each sec team would be rotating OU and TX for the first 2 years they are new to the conference. Maybe I misheard.
No, they were supposed to go to 9 conference games when the league expanded, but ESPN hasn't promised more money for the 9th game. So they stuck to 8. To kick the can down the road and avoid the stoppage of the Alabama-Tennessee and Georgia-Auburn rivalries, the SEC just flipped the 2024 matchups for 2025. Because God forbid Alabama doesn't play Tennessee and Georgia doesn't play Auburn. Apparently, the world would end if that happened.

It truly is amazing how bad the conference is about scheduling and the media rights. You had a three year jump on adding Texas and OU and figuring out whether to do an 8 or 9 game schedule. It’s truly a disservice to the student athletes, institutions and fan bases that they couldn’t figure out a simple algorithm to get the most out of the schedules and instead they were lazy.
It shouldn’t take almost 15 years to play at another school. We’ll have played in Nashville three times in six years and haven’t been to Athens since Mettenberger (maybe a blessing).

Not necessarily? It is expected that with Okie and Texass now being in the SEC that the conference will realign after this season. Expect to see the schedules get shuffled again next season. Especially if, as expected, the conference will go with 4 pods of 4 instead of the Old East/West configuration?

It’s already known who we will play but the exact dates are tbd. We need a 4th OOC game. I would expect this to be someone like ULM or perhaps another HBCU like FAMU or Jackson State.
Personally I don’t agree with playing these games. I’m just predicting based on what I can realistically see happening.
My guesses for the rest are:
8/30 @ Clemson
9/6 vs LA Tech
9/13 vs SC
9/20 @ Vanderbilt
9/27 @ Ole Miss
10/4 bye
10/11 vs Arkansas
10/18 vs A&M
10/25 unannounced OOC opponent
11/1 bye
11/8 @ Bama
11/15 vs Florida
11/22 vs WKU
11/28 @ OU

Not this season. It’s 2026 that this can happen and 9 SEC games is seeming likely which is awesome for us fans. One less cupcake and one more SEC game. The SEC already announced the 25 schedule will just be the same as this years except inverted.

Pretty good guess; which will be the "oven" game LA Tech or SC or both?
OK guess LA Tech will be night.

Clemson at night is one of the toughest environments to play in the country
I don't think Clemson has played more than 10 night games in the last 4 years, they are traditionally a day game school.
I would think there are at least 10 SEC stadiums tougher than Clemson's Memorial Stadium. Vaught-Hemingway at 65k would be a tougher venue than Clemson.

Yes we do. We play @ Ole Miss, @ Alabama, @ Vandy and @ Oklahoma, and have South Carolina, Arky, Aggy and Florida at home. Basically a mirror image of this year's conf schedule

We know 11 out of 12 opponents
Posted on 10/3/24 at 9:48 pm to JimTiger72
Which one do we not know? We know all our conference foes and we play Clemson, LA Tech, W Kentucky and ...
Posted on 10/3/24 at 9:48 pm to tarzana
That’s 3 plus 8… we still need to add a non-conference opponent
Posted on 10/3/24 at 9:55 pm to JimTiger72
Well, the mystery OOC opponent is fairly late in the season, Oct 25 so that pretty well rules out a second P-4 team. My guess is Southern Miss or another LA team (maybe ULL or ULM).

Ya LSU could play week 0 vs Wyoming cause Wyoming is scheduled to play at Hawaii so LSU would end up having 3 official off weeks
Posted on 10/3/24 at 9:59 pm to Domeskeller
They could have just keep the 7 original opponents on the schedule then just have teams switch from playing Oklahoma to playing Texas

Rickie Collins and Collin Hurley
both will be gone most likely. They know that they aren't going to beat out underwood....even if Collins starts the first few games, he won't be starting long. Just the way it is now in College Football.
