The number one problem that JD has that is a real drive killer is taking sacks. He took 43 sacks. No reason for a guy that mobile to be sacked that often.
He has to let it go faster or scramble quicker. He simply cant get us behind the chains.
Another winner.

An honest man would acknowledge that the guy cannot play QB at a high level.

Daniels was good for LSU this season, has 4 college seasons of starting experience and still cannot move the ball through the air down the field.
But...but...he was at ASU which sux so we cannot count those years...AT ALL! QB has all too often been the undoing of LSU football teams. We are likely to be treated to that again next year.

but people saying he's a terrible passer or 'not a QB' are ignoring facts.
Well, Mickey, I disagree with you here. How many more attempts does JD5 have compared to Bennett?

Fine, Mickey. Give me a better explanation. This thread has NOTHING to do with Jarrett Lee, btw.

Does Will Rogers at MS State play at a high level? KJ Jefferson? Will Levis? Spencer Rattler? Anthony Richardson?
Daniels had a better season than all of them.

Top 4 season in program history and this imbecile posts that.

That whole post you just replied to is my explanation...

We had the 4th highest scoring team in the SEC this year (12th last year). We went from scoring 26 pts/game to 34 pts/game in one season.

We get it. You hate Daniels. Give it a rest.

Do not project your feelings on me, friend. I hate no one. I understand that JD5 is not going to lead LSU to an SEC championship. Oh, and if I am wrong I will eat my crow to be sure.

Based on what?

For someone who doesn’t “hate”, you’re putting forth quite a bit of effort to diminish his accomplishments and ability. Seems odd.

How much meaningful playing time has he gotten? He settled in nicely during the bowl game because he wasn’t yankee after 2-3 plays. Maybe that’s all he needs. He will improve with time and repetition. Daniels likely won’t get much, if any, better.

An honest assessment of JD5's stats shows that he is not a QB.

That's your assumption. Personally, I think the same thing happened to him that happened to Jarrett Lee. Threw a lot of picks and it messed with him. He's overly cautious with the football now. Being more comfortable with the coaching staff, gameplan, and his teammates leads to more trust which leads to more chances taken.
I don’t know why he doesn’t trust his receivers to make the play but when he did (Florida, Bama, against purdue) the offense was electric.
He’s just so scared to let the ball go into contested areas (hello auburn, Arkansas, aTm) that it actually hurts the offense. This isn’t the PAC-12 where receivers are always running seemingly wide open.

I don’t know their numbers but I do know everyone but Rogers was being talked about has having bad/disappointing seasons.

As I said, if he does, I'll eat crow...gladly.

Based on watching the man play. It has nothing to do with anything else. Look, so far as I am concerned, it is OK for people to disagree. In this case I disagree with BK (and evidently you) about JD5 being QB. As I see it the QB first and most important job is to pass the ball part of which includes being a legitimate threat over the middle and in the long game. Daniels is neither of those. People extoll his running but that is a consequence of his weakness seeing the field.
Joe Burrow ran for many first downs, some of which were designed runs of course. However, a large measure of his running success was a result of his ability to torch defenses with the pass, especially over the middle and with the long ball. The times no one was open he usually had a lot of room to run for a first down. This is not JD5's game...at all. DCs will get his scrambling sorted out quickly. If he cannot pierce the defense with the vertical passing game, LSU's offense will founder. Bank on it.
