Seams Like a lot of chicken littles want to shut down the season without consideration of other factors and considerations. What can be done...half filed stadiums, etc?

How do you know the athletes want to play? Or you just want a season regardless of what they want??

More than you have little man, but that still doesn’t mean every kid will want to play and risk illness and money. That will be the same thing that holds up pro sports

The millions of dollars they are at risk of losing is probably a motivating factor to play.

I’m sure the guys that are getting a year older without guaranteed money want to play. The clock is ticking for their career and the loss of a season would certainly be worrisome for me.

Yeah but, you have players like Mike Trout not having it. The players that were smart with their money and have move saved at more worried about rushing back and infecting their families

Not all of the players make frick you money. Some are on the fringe of being cut/being sent down to the minors/getting their pension. Mike Trout has the luxury of sitting in his mansion sitting this season out.

Nah, the season will go on as scheduled. Protocols will be in place to test the players. As far as the fans, I see temperature readings at the gates, masks & gloves for a little while.

TV contracts is where they make the money. They could play games without fans. Profit margin might be thin for pro sports but college would still generate a profit I would think.

You are right, but with that they are all (mlb) complaining about having to live in hotels and being tested daily. I just think the players associations will shoot it down. They can say all they want that they see all players as equal, but it the big name played ain’t have it they ain’t playing. On top of that the leagues will be worried about putting the players back on the fields then being financially responsible if a player with frick you money gets sick and dies..

Citing the guy who just signed a $430 million contract is probably not the best way to make your case.

As far as being “smart” with their money...sure that may be feasible for some of the big league veterans, but you’d likely get a different answer from the much more numerous contingent of minor leaguers who spend months at a time on buses and in motel rooms. Especially if said minor leaguers have a chance to fill a vacated spot on a big league roster made available by a multimillionaire who wants to sit out the year

They could put out a little league team right now and the ratings would be through the roof. The big name players could pass if they wanted. I’m not advocating either way but you have football players that are aware of CTE that don’t bat an eye at continuing to play. Professional athletes were getting tests before us peasants so I would assume they would continue to have the best healthcare possible.

In respect to college athletes, think about it this way. Joe Burrow probably goes on to work a normal job like the rest of us instead of being a multimillionaire if this happened a year ago. That’s not even the worst case scenario for the people who grew up really poor. Do you not think they would take that risk?

It doesn't mean every kid will want to play but most on any team will want to play. How do guys like Logan, Farrell, Shelvin, Ingram, Deculus, Stevens, Marshall, or McMath improve their stock without playing for an entire season? They don't. Not playing doesn't help Brennan at all.

I don't know who said this, maybe Dr. Fauci, but I heard some BS about selling every other seat in a stadium as an option to have less fans in attendance.

Whoever said that has never been to a pro game or college stadium where most of the seats are already sold to season ticket holders.

Was just SMDH. It's too early to cancel football.
