Great read

Notes:

Both teams replace an All-SEC RB, top backup RB, 4 OL starters, a standout CB, and a double-digit sacking LB

Both teams play a playoff contender at a neutral site, Alabama, and Georgia

Auburn's SEC win total the past 6 years have been erratic; LSU is consistently around 5 wins

Auburn ranks 66th in returning starters (compared to 7th last year) by Phil Steele

Auburn expected to finish 2nd in west with nearly double digit wins; LSU expected in middle of the pack around 7 wins. Nearly identical, but LSU getting less praise.

Auburn is the only game i think we will lose. and that's because it's at JH.

So the difference is coaching. Got it.

Auburn is also returning a QB who has a season of experience and beat Alabama last season ...

we don't know who our starting QB will be and NONE of our returning RBs have scored a TD in their LSU careers...

so, yeah. not that similar.

Phil Steele has us with 5 starters returning on defense. We have 13 players returning on defense that have started at least one game as a member of a p5 team. Also, 4oL? Hell the two freshman had several starts at tackle...most of the second half of season when we improved.

One team has a proven coach and qb, the other has an idiot as a coach and it’s assumed its qb is gonna be a transfer that’s only seen mop up snaps in the B10.

they have a proven guy under center. we do not. although we are hopeful what we are going to get at the most important position is a complete mistery

Yes, that same idiot coach that beat that proven coach last year, and that same QB that lsu pounded that arse.

Solid post. Very objective.

The difference is 3 gold

1. Stidham is a know quantity

He’s started games as Baylor and auburn and looked good.

I like Burrow but the tape on him is limited and he’s is a post spring transfer

2. LSU’s offense is completely unknown.

3. Gus vs O

1 has played for a NC, and won the west twice

1 won a career high 9 games last year.

One beat that arse last year. One would be fired right now had lsu beaten Auburn in the game that decided which coach fired. Give me a break on that lucky arse 2013 Auburn team.

Stidham is a statue. Lsu did well against him and will again.

But go ahead Sammy.

As you know he is one of the biggest bashers on this board. Now he is also rolling with lsu will win the west. Terrible coach, less talent by far than bsma, but win the west. That way if lsu has a good year he called it. If not then he can bash harder because after all lsu was picked to win west by him.

Ironically going into last season, the Auburn faithful were wanting to cut ties with Gus. Per the fans he underperformed with the talent he had. he was also rumored to be in line to take the Arkansas job; although, that's been a running narrative with Malzahn.

I think We should beat them

I am Basically saying the reason our projections are different is because they’re a more known quantity

I am Am predicting a 10-2 season.

I doubt we beat them because of where we play them. Look at history.
