I'm more impressed with the fact that starting with the 2006 draft we have had at least 5 drafted every years, and we are averaging 6 players per draft!

I think Mathieu stays for his senior year
And hes a guy that could drop when teams start looking at measurable and speed at the combine instead of tape

I have seen him projected 16 for next year already

This one does not belong in this group. I can see a Mathieu or Mingo going to an already loaded team at the very end of the round that is searching for depth, a potential playmaker, or future investment. Most likely 2nd rounders though.

Actually, scouts are really high on Hurst. His season performance overall really got their attention. It's just his showing against Bama the second time around took some bloom off the rose.
I think Tharold Simon could emerge as a possible first rounder, too, if he has a strong junior season. He has the measurables that scouts drool over for a cover corner. He needs to keep refining technique and be more consistent next season.

Yes he is. Combination of speed, power, playmaking ability and ball skills is off the charts. Cant produce a link here but I saw Mel Kiper say he IS an elite nfl prospect and first round caliber player.

Mingo needs years not a year. Reid needs to make more plays....One play doesnt make a player. Tyrann is too small.

So many people in this thread with no grasp of what makes a first rounder.
I would put chances like this for LSU
Close to a lock-
Montgomery
Mingo
Looking good-
Mathieu
Simon
Work to do-
Faulk
Hurst
Reid(mostly because safety isn't typically a premium first round choice)

I agree if the Offense improves in the passing game this year both Hurst & Faulk will go in true 1st. Scouts love Mathieu's playmaking ability the'll us him like a Troy Polamalu, Ed Reed type. A player you could freelance with on Defense just let hime make plays.
Reid may be the #1 Safety next season.
Finally Mingo & Montgomery maybe top 10 pick.

Really has no impact, unless their play is why the passing game sucks, other wise it won't matter.
And at people and the prospect of Mathieu going in the first round. You guys need to get out more. Its waaaaaayyyy premature for much 2013 draft talk, but Mathieu is very appealing to scouts.
