It's ok, everyone knows LSU is still the best team this year

So you're agreeing that he recruits and coaches for this type of park then?

Ty Cobb approves of UCLA winning.

How many times did Mike Patrick say "He absolutely crushed that ball" when describing a fly ball that did not even reach the warning track? If these announcers watch the tape of these games, they'll be pretty embarrassed but with such a boring game on display, I guess they had to do what they could to try to make it seem like a great CWS. Clearly this was the worst display of college baseball in the last 30+ years.

Two peat now for PAC 12. Gotta put an end to that shite.

Last time I checked Mr. Cobb died 50 years ago

this is the 1st year in the past 22 years that I didnt watch the CWS championship series. If we want to watch 2-0 or 2-1 games than we will watch professional ball, I miss college baseball the way it used to be.

I call bull shite
If you've been watching that long you would probably remember that the championship series has only been played the last 10 years

Eight of the 14 games were decided by two runs or less.
there were just three hit during the CWS – the lowest total since 1966
repeating what others have said, including Indiana coach Tracy Smith (who is in favor of moving the fences in) – watching outfielders play more shallow than you'll see anywhere else changes the integrity of the game. It prevents bloopers and line drives from falling in that otherwise would. When the integrity of the game is compromised, change must occur.
The WIND blowing in as opposed to OUT at Rosenblatt is a huge factor..the fences must be moved in to compensate some.
---not one HR has been hit to centerfield in the 3 years.

You can still hit and score runs w/o hitting homeruns right?
People have figured out how to hit the baseball in the history of playing baseball which produces a hit and scores runs without hitting it over some fence...has this happened?
What stopped the other teams from scoring 4 runs a game like UCLA? Do other teams not teach hot to hit powerful line-drives or hard basehit grounders?

So you'd be cool with the NCAA banning the forward pass? I mean you can still score points.
Posted on 6/26/13 at 9:04 am to JJ27
UCLA was making the forward pass in your analogy..they were Peyton Manning/Tom Brady dinking and dunking all the way down the field.
You want old Raider ball...and yeah, they can ban every pass being a Hail Mary.

No. They were 3 yards and a cloud of dust. Followed by field goals and zero touchdowns. Playing against teams made of great WR who were suddenly told they had to play LT.

No I want baseball. Home runs are a part of baseball. You think MLB fans/managers/players would favor conditions that yielded 1 HR per 5+ games between 2 teams? That's not baseball, it's a castrated version designed so inferior players can compete. The NCAA did this for parity.

Just sucked! Boring as hell.
Posted on 6/26/13 at 9:28 am to JJ27
Out of all of the nonsense posted since LSU's departure from the CWS, you just brought up the topic at the heart of college baseball today. Parity. For years every school outside of the south and west coast has complained loudly about the "advantages" warm weather teams have over everyone else. First it was scholarship/roster size limits, then it was practice time limits, now it is bats and balls all aimed at one thing.. evening out the playing field. The NCAA would love nothing more than a CWS made up of Indiana, Stony Brook, Kent State, etc..
Oh and Mike Patrick is an idiot /rant

There is something wrong with the new system if you scored at most 4 runs, against the best teams in college baseball, and you win it all.
No way that can be done in MLB.

I just wonder how many recruits are going to look at the CWS and consider turning pro early rather than following the college route. I mean, a recruiter goes into a recruit's home and offers the kid the opportunity to learn to bunt, choke up on the bat to slap-hit (like the ladies do in softball), and learn other small-ball skills in order to get the opportunity to go to the big leagues and then fail because the opportunity to hit the long ball in a championship game was taken away. Or, perhaps, it's like a horse race where the horse runs on a good dirt track and then gets to the Kentucky Derby on a rainy day and the race is run in the mud. Or perhaps they need to move the lines on the Wimbledon tennis courts up 10 feet to accommodate "small tennis"?
