Bama was the better team in the 9-6 games but just missed field goals.

Meh, can't really agree with this. It's not like they were missing chip shots. And even then, specials teams is part of the equation.

They certainly were the better team in the rematch, but they really shouldn't have been there either.

I felt the better team was the one who won the game.

Why did that team not win a National Championship that year?

This is why.

No they didn’t.

237 total yards

Jefferson 5/13 37yds

1/9 3rd Down

Defense had 3 turnovers and two long punt returns, one resulting in a touchdown.

How a QB that just went 5/13 37yds starts a National Championship is beyond me.

That offense sucked all year and was bailed out over and over by the defense and special teams. That’s why I would never consider that team the best at LSU. 2003 overall was much better.

I should rephrase that, Jordan Jefferson offense.
I’m still salty as a mother fricker.

Well that's not close to the same thing.

Easy. Two evenly matched teams. One had Saban and a big chip on their shoulder. The other did not.

LSU was down 14-0 and was a dropped pass away from being down 21-0. JJ was something like 3-15 at halftime.

Agree...

Jordan Jefferson’s starts Bama - NC, yardage.

67
168 W. Kentucky
88
208 Arky
30
53

That is pure trash. The dude should have never been on the field. Defense and Special teams won all those games except one, but held Bama in check for most of 1/9. Not to take away from our running backs who worked their asses off.

UGA got worn out in the 2nd half.

This is what got us to the 21-0 debacle on 1/9. Seeing UGA's defense gassed and getting gashed in the second half of that game reinforced Les' mindset of body blows that will eventually soften up a defense. That's also why he didn't see the need to even try changing QBs. Just stick with the game plan and wait for the inevitable tiring of the defense. Except Bama had a very talented and deep defensive line that didn't get gassed. Instead, with all the 3 and outs, it was our defense that finally got gassed and eventually gave up the one touchdown in the game well into the 4th quarter.

We don't win the 9-6 game without him. He had a good game against a good Arkansas team.

Was he great? Hell no. Is he as garbage as you act, also no.

ETA: I only downvoted your post saying the offense sucked all year though

ehhhh... ya gotta put context here.

he was bad the last 2 games (and particularly awful in the SECCG ), but he didn't start the 1st Bama game. the 88 was against Ole Miss where he completed all his passes and then we barely threw the rest of the game. we coulda scored 70 if Les wanted to.

Lee still should've gotten more PT than he did, even if he wasn't the starter anymore. I thought the coaches had struck a good balance with using the 2 in tandem at times in 2010 and again 2011. wish that could've continued.

He had an okay game against Arkansas, not good. He threw a pick and fumbled.
Once again the defense had 3 turnovers and special teams returned a punt for a TD.
We rushed for 300yds

I will give Jefferson that long run up the middle untouched for a TD.

Dude was garbage. I put him up there with Marcus Randall and Brandon Harris.

Like I said I’m still salty, so ignore my dislike for the man

I’m just glad those days are behind us and we have Joe Burrow and Orgeron who seems to be trying to changing the philosophy around our offense.

Well, the you just don't care if anyone will give you credibility then. He was a much much much better QB than Harris.

WTH happened?
Lee's girlfriend/fiance left him during the season. He dropped out of life, missed 21 or so straight days of class and basically could not play. That's why Miles was waiting for JJ to run him to practice as soon as JJ got cleared.

He was probably better than Randall too. I just said I put him in the same category when I think of garbage QBs.

Eta I’m still angry as hell at Howard vs Auburn. I probably need to let that one go though
