imo our defense only really costs us the uga last year

like usually we were ill prepared for ole miss and bama

I'll mostly give you Ole Miss, even with 500 yards given up by the D. But Bama game could have been won if the defense played until the end of both half. Offense did more than enough to win that game, giving up quick scores at the end of each half is unacceptable.

2011 was bailed out by great Special Team play and an epic defense.

Nope. LSU set many school records for offense in 2011. This assertion is about as wrong as one could be.

That was true this year, too - easily winnable if the defense just plays defense on that last drive.

Of course, Bama had lots of help -

That was your warning sign that he was clueless when it came to managing QB's.

I guess you ignore the fact that our QB last year is now a starter in the NFL.

Are you claiming our offense wasn't good last year? You've been being pretty reasonable lately, why change that?

I think you've missed the point to why people are bringing up last year

Not at all. The numbers speak for themselves....but we still produced 3 losses and a marginal bowl game.
And that same offense completely disappeared in the biggest game of the year at BDS.

What are these 'many' records you speak of?

That's on the defense. We should have finished the year with one loss the way the offense played.

The reference was to the offense under CLM. It has been below average in the SEC overall. Last year was the exception. This year is awful even by his very low standards. Who are the retards.

In all fairness the 2011 offense was pretty darn good while LEE was the qb. Look at the AU and FLA games . those were blowout wins....
The myths live on. Look at the three games after Bama. Those were blowout wins. LSU gained more yards in EACH of those three games than in any other games in 2011.

2011 had an above average offense.
Rushing Offense #22
Scoring Offense #17
Passing Efficiency #24
And those number include playing in the SEC and playing the #1 Defense twice.

There are 3 units on a football team: offense, defense, and special teams. Our 2013 defense could not stop a sneeze.

I'm amazed you haven't killed yourself after AJ numbers the last few weeks. When can we expect your post about how effective he's been?

You're still the retard.

Scoring offense in SEC since 2007:

2008: 4th
2009: 10th
2010: 9th
2011: 2nd
2012: 7th (of 14)
2013: 6th (of 14)

So it's actually been right on the mark as far as average, and closer to above than below. Gonna take a hit with this year though.

ETA: Salviati, check out the two years your boy JJ was the full time starter.

In all honesty our defense gave us TONS of short fields, turnovers, and momentum that year. They set the offense up to be successful in the best way. Your point is correct by the numbers, but sometimes you have to dig into stats a little bit to find a kernel of truth.

There is a sizeable group of people on here that refuses to admit last year's offense was good. It's truly baffling and actually pretty funny IMHO.
