Ark was not SEC in 79.

I recently came across an old newspaper from the day the Gulf War kicked off in 1991 (I think this was right) and the sports sections talked about Arky joining the SEC to make it a 12 team conference. Had no idea it was that late!

I miss those days of scheduling.

Check out our 68 schedule (one of my graduate school years). We played as many SWC teams (aTm, Rice, Bayor and TCU - we went 4-0) as we did SEC teams (UK, BAMA, Ole Miss & MooState - we went 2-2).

Just think, from 32 to 40, there were 13 teams in the SEC, and from 41 to mid 60's, there were 12 teams including Ga Tech and Tulane.

I farmed the other three posters today:

Plus for $21, I framed this 93 Baseball jersey. The frame was $7 at Goodwill and the matt was $14 at Hobby Lobby. It is not the greatest frame job, but it will work until I get it framed for good:

I have been wishing these would make a comeback. They used to be in every poboy shop, barber shop and bar around.

I would have been bidding against you if I had known about the auction, so I don't blame you for keeping quiet about it.

Great find!

I had my snipe bid set at $160 ($40 each). So you would had to go high.

You would have still got them, just paying a bit more.

I will have to settle for your photos of them, I guess.

Antique, do you know of anyone who would be interested in a football autographed by the entire 1981 team?

It's also signed by all of the coaches and trainers as well...

Freshmen in 73 Ran my only NCAA Cross Country meet the day of the Auburn game

In 1979 I listened to the USC game in my office at the U of South Carolina and ate my heart out.

Is the Tiger picture different now? The picture in my head is from back then in the Mike Miley and Carl Otis Trimble days.

I think I'd rather have one of those classic schedules on my office wall, instead of those Advocate baseball front pages.

I cannot stand those Advocate posters.

I do like the Advocate schedule posters:
