I was embarrassed in the student section...at one point I just left my seat for 20 minutes and walked up and down the steps of each section looking for people i knew to ask them to pump up everyone around them. I've seen a serious decline in the student section over the past 5 years...

ETA: Watched it...I didn't have tickets that year...I was actually working in a concession stand during that game. When they had the rain delay it was miserable. The Oregon State fans were pressed up against us, pretty much. Havoc.

I agree whole-heartedly with your post. But don't you agree that your "instructions" happen more or less automatically in big night games in DV (and some day games) like:
Alabama '08, Georgia '08
Va Tech '07, Fla '07, Auburn '07, Arkansas '07

Tenn.'05 (after Katrina) Florida '05, Auburn '05
Oregon St '04
Georgia '03, Auburn '03, Arkansas '03
