There’s no upside to this guy. College basketball is way too competitive for this guy to ever makeup the difference. There’s not a single thing you can point to that’s positive with McMahon.

What’s crazy is he gets credit for Morant but he didn’t discover him. An assistant did, made a call to McMahon and told him “we have to offer him right now” so McMahon said go ahead and do it. That’s how they got him.

He has to build a brand. Consider Dale Brown's first year when he gave away purple and gold hoop nets just to start getting youngsters excited about playing for LSU. That was post Maravich. It's going to take patience.

You can’t win this way no matter who you have playing for you. It’s antiquated, low level basketball without the detail, discipline or toughness it takes to even be competitive with this style. And no recruits are gonna come play in this system. Sure you’ll get a 1 off here or there but not a team full of guys capable.

McMahon was at a perennial wining mid major. He never upset a top team and didn’t blow out the weak teams in his conf. That doesn’t translate to success at the next level.
