Agreed.

The rant sucks. It's always a bigger dick contest on here. No sensible middle ground when discussing the Tigers. Any criticism and you're spoiled, miserable and labeled as a "negatiger." Any praise and you're stupid, blind and labeled as a "positiger." Some of you even hang your hat on those monikers with pride and continue the ignorance.
To say this season either "sucked" or was "great," shows lack of attention to detail, and ignorance of the game. IMO, LSU competed as best they could against some of the top teams in the country, and a 10-2 record plus a possible bowl win is nothing to hang you head about as a Tiger fan. That said, untimely poor execution and bad play calling did keep the Tigers from getting it done when it really counted, and took away their ability to consistently put away obviously inferior opponents. Until that changes, some of you can continue to enjoy 10-2 seasons, trips to the Peach Bowls of college football, and some of you will just have to stay miserable, while all of us will be watching Bama, Florida, etc., hoist the crystal football.

Just like last year right?
I guess you are a negatiger.

Eh, LSU was 2-2 in games that should have been competitive (Bama, UF, A&M, S.C.)
Could easily have been a better season, could easily have been worse. I think people are upset because all of these games could have been won

Oh get off your frickin high horse. You have no case. You're just like all the other posters on this site that thinks LSU should run the table every year and doesn't think LSU is playing well enough, hence your "until that changes, people can enjoy 10-2 seasons and Peach Bowls". We have been to three BCS bowls in the 8 years that Miles has been here and 2 were National Titles, so your comment is just as "ignorant" as the "positiger" and "negatiger" shite.

And I'm excited about going to another bowl game this year.
Anyone know of any sites where you can discuss Tiger football without all the childish bullshite?

You are wrong to not credit or be excited about the South Carolina or Texas A&M wins. The teams in the SECCG lost to them.
amen. this years tiger team had it's great moments. and people scoffing at beating auburn before their team threw in the towel (and mett got good) and beating ole miss and arky do not know football. we beat some tough teams that played their best against us and pretty much do every year.

I really don't think it's about being a "positiger" or "negatiger" anymore. I think it comes down to those who accept mediocrity in life and those who strive for greatness. We see great potential in our team but do not achieve great results. You can say what you want bu tcoaching lost both of those games this year and they are paid handsomely for their services. I say they are over paid and mediocre at their jobs (aside from Chavis).

quote:Great point. But you can't say these teams didn't play their best against others who managed to pull away from them in the end. I think with it being Mett's first year in the SEC, and new players adjusting to positions, the Tigers did well to win those games. Having this year to gel, they should be able to put away these teams as well next year...hopefully.

quote:I don't agree. Yes it was frustrating to see what were some questionable calls at crucial times, but I think the coaches did well to get what they could out of players still developing at this level. Next year will be a better gauge at who's doing their job or not. Ceratin players should have the experience and comfort they lacked this season. Like I said before, it's a combination of play calling and execution.

Yes I can.
Auburn did NOT play their best against Alabama.
Arkansas did not have Tyler Wilson on the field against Alabama, so therefore, they did not play their best against them either.

2-2 against good teams, 6-0 against bad teams. That's supposed to be exciting?
I suppose if you were a Bama fan you would regard Bama as under achieving and unexciting also since they are 50% against good teams this season also.
If LSU had Bama's schedule, in all likelihood we would have only one loss also. We get a tougher road than Bama (as ususal) and have a very successful season despite a variety of setbacks and obstacles. People just need to get over it. All of us wish things had gone differently in a couple of games, but given that this team overcame a lot and still won 10 games, including 2 wins against top 10 opponents means this team had a very good year.

If you think coaching lost the UF game, then you don't know anything about college football. Our offense literally did nothing the entire game, when we did connect on a big pass, we fumbled. We also lost sseveral key contributors on defense during the course of the game, starters were out when UF scored.
You can challenge some of the play calling against the gumps, but what lost the game was defense in the end. The inability to stop Bama on 2 minute drives before the half and at the end of the game. Chavis is the only coach you think that isn't mediocre and that scheme falls on him.

This is why The Rant is a "bigger dick" contest according to you. You said that we can't honestly say the schools we didnt pull away from played their best against other schools like Bama yet Bama still pulled away from them. When you have someone point out instances where teams definitely did not play their best you just argue back about other examples. This is precisely the reason why the rant is a bigger dick contest. So GTFO out of here with that whiny crap. Debates are going to be had on the rant, its a frickin internet message board.
As far as your actual post goes, you still aren't making your point. We best Mississppi State by 20, we pulled away from them. So whats your point there?

Man you are one sunshine pumpin fool. Yes coaching lost both of those games and to lay blame on Chavis is crazy. If you actually go back and watch the end of that game it wasn't even this BS prevent defense people are talking about. He blitzed on their second play. It was a zone defense that was probably just a little softer than before but no where near prevent. I would say the fake field goal, 54 yard field, 4th and 1 ware cat, and the lack of courage to get a first down to win the game had way more affect on the outcome. Our head coach and offensive coaches are mediocre at best proving my point that people are either ok with mediocrity or they are not. You must be.

Dude are you illiterate? I am talking about the UF game and you mentioned the NC game. Now you are arguing with me by talking about the Bama game this year? If you read my post I actually mentioned that some of the play calling could be challenged in that game, but we did give up TDs within 1 minute before the half and the end of the game.
Also, please explain to me in what way the fake field goal impacted the game? I challenge you to come up with a response to that.

Actually not. You had a pretty dumb response.
The context of the thread has to do with quality wins.
The whole point of my question was to point out that most teams do not have many quality wins if you are going to only define them to suit your argument.

I answered your question, yet my response was dumb. Wow ok.
No shite the thread has to do with quality wins. You asked what quality wins do any of those teams have, implying that they didn't really have any and I pointed our several teams that did have some and what they were. But thanks for clearing that up big guy.
