It doesn't still piss you off even a little bit that what was the greatest LSU regular season in history was capped off by a complete fricking embarrassment?

Ok so you insist, I'll give you the inside story.

My sauces are impeccable. (Look it up)

I've been sitting on it all these years but now I think its time to release it.

Why do you need a conspiracy to explain something very obvious. The rematch looked identical to the first game except Bama ran the first punt back, their QB played better, and they defensed the option.

Oh, and their field goal kicker played better.

JJ is/was Les favorite player ever, he loves him. Not trying to be funny or bullshite, he just loved that kid.

it was for a NC, this will talked about for 50 years. it wasn't like he had burn a time out against rice in the second quarter up 31-0

I heard that Les Miles didn’t like the fact that Lee ate in the locker room frequently. The thing that really bothered Les was that Lee smacked loud no matter what he ate, this drove Les nuts. It came to a head just before the championship game.

Split locker room
Nick Saban with a month to prepare and throw in bringing in Gregg Williams to stop the option.

Worst thing to happen to Les was winning 9-6. He didn’t need to change his strategy in 1/9/12 and got exploited and continued to when facing a team that was more dominant at bully ball.

The way LSU's O-line got manhandled for practically the entire game, the idea that putting in Lee, who was much less mobile than Jefferson, would have made any difference is bizarre. We couldn't run the ball on them and every time Jefferson did drop back to pass, he was almost immediately getting pressured. I guess we'll never really know for sure, but I don't think putting Lee in that night would have made any real difference in the outcome. Lee had had a bad game against that very same defense earlier during the season.

The funny part is hadhe put Lee in and he would’ve gotten murdered everyone would be mad because they’d think Miles pulled JJ just a he was gaining momentum. This argument was unwinnable.

You know we did beat Bama with him two months earlier?

Yeah, the two interceptions he threw while wetting his pants were awesome.
Did you watch the game at all?

There was a State Trooper in the room who escorts Les onto the field. My cousin who was coaching in HS at the time was good friends with the trooper. And, from what I was told, the trooper told my cousin T-Bob and Shepard approached Les and asked if he planned on playing Lee. Les told them they should be more concerned about their own playing time. He then told Stud if Lee goes in the game you will be looking for a job next season. This is basically what I was told and don't know how much got scrambled in the grapevine. But, considering that particular grapevine is rather short and from what actually transpired on the field that night, I'd have to accept his version as correct. A lot of LSU's players were down that night. They weren't fired-up to play, and that was evident when they ran on the field. IDK if playing Lee would have made much difference that night, but it couldn't have been worse than what happened.
