Both sides of the Will Wade debate need to let it go!!!! He is gone, like it or not, and he ain’t coming back to LSU. We have a new head coach & God knows he is going to need all of our support.

Does anyone still think this years LSU basketball teams talent or coaching, was on the same level of the teams we saw in the Final Four? We got to witness what real team basketball looks like, with great coaching. Will Wade will NEVER be on the same level as the Bill Selfs, Coach Ks, or Jay Wrights. I’m tired of reading tRant prophesying Wade as some genius coach. Rant on

I ABSOLUTELY believe next years club would have been because of how we saw him use different styles to adjust to the players he had without having a full compliment of talent. This years team was a hell of a grinder without a scoring threat from the perimeter.

They won a ton of games until they basically lost guards. That is a back breaker for any team. You cannot win in the tournament without great guard play. Just can’t.

Yet this JV coach won the SEC against the elite Cal and others and really only had 2 good seasons to show how his teams won in different ways.

Like him or not the program was trending in a very positive direction.

KU and NC and Duke all cheat and ONLY HAVE BASKETBALL.

frick off.

I appreciate what WW did and I was sorry to see him go. There are very polarizing opinions on him here from “He stinks” to “he was the best ever”.

Looking at this from what I hope is a balanced position, I saw a great recruiter whose teams lacked discipline and, therefore, underperformed. I think he would have got his legs under him at some point but I didn’t see the structure.

Please bro, please give Wade more time. Come on bro, I know his roster management was bad but he just needs more time bro. Bro, I’m telling you I know he got caught red handed paying players via his own phone and bank account, but he just needs a little bit more experience to get it right. Please bro, just a little more time for Wade. Please.
What an annoying pussy.

Wade put together a top 15 offense and top 15 defense in back to back years.

To think that he would not have learned how to combine the best of both via roster management is naive or disingenuous.

Not saying he 100% makes a final four, but there's so much misinformation spouted on this site that he couldn't run an offense. Hell, a year ago the narrative was that he would never be able to produce a good defense.

Literally no one says hes the best ever, most knowledgeable basketball posters know how good he was as a coach and get tired of the mouth breathing crowd making up lies and acting like he was a terrible coach.

I loved wade, but he got sacrificed to save the golden goose which is understandable. We arent Kansas, basketball is all they have and they are willing to fight the ncaa over it.

I hope mcmahon can have the same kind of success as wade, not sure I believe he will, but I’ll be rooting for him.

And he had the best stretch of 5 years in LSU basketball history.

Not even fricking close to 81-86

During that stretch
2 Final 4’s
2 conference championships
4 NCAA appearances
National coach of the year

Too bad the rankings and seedings weren’t top 15.

Why dont you look and see where those coaches were at the age 39 and what they were doing?

Bill Self coached Tulsa to the elite 8

Coach K was the national runner-up at Duke

Jay Wright took Hofstra to two straight NCAATs

Wade signed a lot of talented players, but we never have looked well coached.
