because a lot of his passes get deflected. A LOT. But the last one he threw into the helmet of the defensive lineman.

He's an above average runner and a below average passer. It's who he is. Kiffin tried desperately to find another Chambliss, but Leavitt isn't it. We lose at least 3 games this year. It is what it is.

Changing your delivery is not a midseason endeavor.

It’s the difference between playing in the Big 12 vs the SEC.

Well, tell me then? This is happening on a lot of his passes, usually 3rd down. None have resulted in INTs, but they soon will unfortunately

Trying to change your throwing motion/delivery midseason will result in more incompletions and interceptions.

If you think it is bad enough to warrant starting a backup, then you do that.

Otherwise, you try to script your offense to give him opportunities to throw passes in open lanes or roll your pocket to give him outside throws that don't have to travel right over the D line. Unfortunately, this is difficult to do for a whole game.

I also think it's just a recognition factor. Do they point this out in the tape reviews? Just a little loft on the ball, not necessarily a delivery modification will help. Plus it seems Sam is really close to the Dline guys that seem to always get a hand or a finger on his attempts. Oh, or a helmet or facemask lol
