Keeping containment, not over pursuing

That was what impressed me the most out of this game from the defense. They kept everything in front of them. Even when they got in the backfield I didn't see any dumbass dives at the feet to miss tackles and take you out of the play entirely, didn't really bite on moves and jukes from Clemson's players, let them dance all they want they still have to come to you while you have them cornered, don't let them escape containment and backup always arrived. Very patient and methodical and their tackling was sure at the point of contact. Very disciplined at each level and they have each other's backs.
I have not seen that from an LSU defense in a very long time.

Best defensive performance since 2011.

What impressed me the most was the talent difference between this team and last year’s. We thought we had two good backs, but they are third and fourth string this year. They are good change of pace backs, but LSU did not have a single bell cow running back last year.
The new talent on the defensive line and offensive line is a big step up. So is the Ole Miss LB.
Green is playing with consistency now. Last year the talent and big plays were there, but he was making a lot of mistakes. If he keeps playing like he did in game 1 he is going to be happy with his NFL payday.
