This is obviously one of the most important coaches on the team and a big reason why we have sucked the last 5 or 6 years with avg hires at best at this position. Watching 4 man defense fronts break thru almost every play has just become the norm. Doesnt matter the team we are playing . We have brought in many top high school recruits , Top portal players at the OL positions yet same results.
Watching other teams OL's on Saturdays being able to create holes for RB's and passing lanes for Qb's to throw has become foreign to most LSU fans. It's pretty obvious at this point that we have a big problem AGAIN at OL. Throwing money yearly to bring in players hasnt worked! LSU needs someone with a Proven record of developing talent on the OL. Who that is at this point not sure ? but come this off season that Position needs to be TOP priority.

Historically for whatever reason the top OL players don't come to LSU. I don't know why it is that way, but it is. Fix that one and we can compete

Tonight, it is obvious the immediate need is O line players and a coach. The defense it's missing assignments and are out of alignment. The O line is weak, slow, gentle and to be nice, not football smart

I think the blocking scheme is not putting the players in the best position for success. It's too complicated. We pull someone on almost every play it seems whether run or pass, making assignments harder to determine. We then have missed assignments on both sides of the line. We did better when the O-line scheme was traditional. I noticed it in particular on the right side with Bah and Davis.

Credit to Dylan Jones for somehow still finding success last night and Leavitt for executing very well considering the pressure he was dealing with all night.

Meanwhile Kentucky played us straight up without any tricks and absolutely manhandled the DL. #71 Wood looked like an All-American last night. Minchey had all day to throw in a clean pocket most of the time.

71 undoubtedly has sore hands this morning from the number of times he grabbed Princewell in a chokehold as he was blowing by. Egregious no calls. Every freaking play.

That said, I’m not sure we could do any better if our OL was allowed to hold like that. Once again, we look weak and soft, we aren’t moving anyone. 55 is especially bad, but the rest aren’t far behind. S&C needs to get better. I miss Les’s teams that could impose their will on anyone not in Crimson.

I’m sure I missed some holds which happens every game, but every play I saw with 71 he was dominating the person in front of him without holding.
