I'm going to go out on a limb and say if he'd had the chance to train with an actual kicker for 1-2 days he would have made it.
I've seen events like this where a regular student missed from 60. Wide, not short.

Hell- I think if McAfee spent 15 minutes with him he would have made it. He was dead on, just needed to learn to follow through.
