I can’t see lsu taking 2 portal receivers with the other needs on the team. Receiver seems pretty good right now if all the current commits stick.

This isn’t the NFL. Roster spots aren’t nearly the premium. There’s room in the 85.

Not if they feel like guys like Hilton will stick around. There's no cap on who you can take so you make the 85 man limit work when it comes to that time. You don't say no to talent especially homegrown talent which is BK's blueprint. He didn't do anything at WR but he was an excellent return man. Considering how bad our STs are I don't see how you can say no to that. Anderson's potential is much more than just return guy.

Why not? We are in no danger of reaching the 85 scholarship limit. College football is different now. Having 2 electric return men gives you flexibility and depth in case of injury.

Not to hijack the thread, but a related question about the 85. Do guys who are playing their “Covid year” count against the 85 or was that a one-year deal.

LSU had 8 scholarship WRs this year, which is low.
They’ve lost two, so before anyone is signed, they are at 6.
Ideally they need to be around 10-11.

I didn’t say they would not take another receiver. They may. I just think their game is so similar they both are return specialist and play in the slot.
