Campbell will start as a freshman. I don’t think heard is nearly as polished and will sit a year before getting significant playing time. He has even said he hasn’t been playing OT long and is still getting the position down. Physically he looks exactly like a big time OT.

I don’t want to count my chickens before they hatch but Campbell and Heard being your bookends two years from now is lethal. That’s not even counting the interior.
Yeah I said the same. Add Mubenga as a center and Emery Jones as a guard and that might be the best offensive line in LSU history in 2024.

If we could land toviano on top of prean and heard we’d have the #3 class

#3 if we added 3 recruits and if you assume everyone else in the country stopped recruiting and their ratings stayed the same from now until February.

Buddy you keep saying this shite in multiple threads now. Please enlighten us on who will decommit from lsu and who we don't have a legitimate chance at landing instead of just being a Debbie downer for no actual reason.

We get it. There's a long way to go but you keep posting this like there's no real shot at lsu ending up in the top 3 or 5 when it's all said and done. So, again, please enlighten us on how it's all going to go down since you think we are all just dreaming with our heads' in the clouds.

That’s why I said “as a prospect”.

Campbell really came in at the right time to be able to start. Both are studs. Heard is built a litttle different though. I think he is LSU’s best OT prospect since Whitworth.

This is simply a must get for the Tigers. We must keep all major college linemen in state.

Ok I’m not trying to drag this out or argue but Campbell was a 5 star OT and top 4-5 in the country. So what you are saying is that it is your opinion that Heard turns out to be a better player when all is said and done? I will say that his body looks like a lean prototypical OT. it isn’t too hard to imagine him being that good but hearing about Campbell and the fact that he’s going to start as a freshman in this league makes it tough for me to believe he is better or will be better just because it’s hard to imagine that we will have two OTs that good at the same time. That would be the best set of bookends that we have ever had at one time. If that’s how they progress we are talking about possibly 2 first round picks at OT. That would be impressive.

In 2024 Campbell,Jones,Heard, and West, not Mubenga, will be starters

At the next level they might think of Will as a guard. But, that is to be seen. He will start 3 years in Baton Rouge at left tackle. Now if you want to say Heard has a bigger ceiling. Okay, because he is still learning to play OL. He was a DL prospect from Bastrop before Neville got him out of the portal. But, to think Heard is will be a better prospect than Will. I will have to disagree. No pun intended.

You plan on starting an O-Line of four(4)…….

Five (5) OLs is much more commonplace…..

Mubenga going to be a stud, by the way…..

I’ve watched Heard for several years. He has everything needed to develop into a great tackle, but he’s still got some developing to do. Has only played tackle for a year. Does have a high ceiling, but definitely has not proven enough to put him at Will’s level. Will has surpassed all expectations at LSU despite being a very highly regarded tackle prospect, and he was definitely a more technically sound lineman heading into his senior season.

I am a big Will guy and made this post in April of 2020. I thought he was the best tackle prospect since Whitworth.

I think Heard is built different, and his upside is even higher than Will’s.

Agreed that ZH appears to have a bit more upside potential over Campbell. However, WC was a good bit more of a polished, “ready-to-contribute” OT upon arriving on campus than Heard will be.

ZH is still a little raw, and it’s completely understandable - seeing as how he has only played the position for a single season.

Regardless, how freaking awesome will it be having these two (2) beasts bookend our O-Line in 2024……

That 2024 O-Line is going to be one that LSU fans have craved for a decade or more, and I can’t wait to see them destroy the SEC
