I have seen nobody post that Gibbs is a "surefire" thing. Not sure I have seen anybody say that it is more likely than not.
He remains a long shot born out of necessity.

The A&M bag man arrived.

What did Clyde do to deserve that?

What would we do without “joeyheisman”

Gibbs has no crystal ball predictions now. Also, his 247 updates has him visiting Ohio State and LSU on the same day and Florida is now showing a visit on the 24th.

Guys Gibbs is a pipe dream, family is huge GT fans, he is committed to GT and has connects to GT football.
Strang things happen in recruiting, but with Georgia losing Evans, they also will be pressing him hard.
The Georgia mods told their fans not to get their hopes up as he is a lock to GT,
We shall see.

Nearly everyone is acting as if we can just say the word and he is in our class. At least that’s the way some people are posting about him.

Those wanting Gibbs are seeing the big picture. Why did Saban want Sopher? It wasn't because he saw some great talent, but rather because he didn't want us to get him so that way we didn't get a foot hold in the Amite area.
LSU will never have a problem getting running backs, so losing Gibbs to GT is not a big deal because we never play them. Losing Evans to a SEC West rival who is on the come up is a huge deal because if he succeeds A&M is going to own all the elite talent in Houston.
There is zero risk taking Evans, but a lot to lose. More than likely he will mature when he gets to college because he sees the end game. I really dont want to have to tangle with him in 21 and 22 when he is an All-American type player.
Recruiting isnt always about improving your roster, but rather weakening your rivals roster.

quote:Yeah, Saban didn't push to recruit the #5 DT in the nation with a rating on .9757 & #3 player in LA for his talent. Just so that he can have contacts in Louisiana.

If he can’t get a test score, he should just go to the XFL.

Georgia 247 staff said that he has the grades and test scores to enroll early. His problems aren't about grades.
Also another poster said something about recruiting to take away talent from your enemies.
Saban took Jalen Waddle away from us 2 years ago and he had over 300 yards in returns against us this year.
It's also known that after Saban fills his class with players he wants that already want to come to Bama, he consistently looks for players at positions of need at conference schools. frick em.
Nothing is worse than getting torched by a guy that spurned you at the last second.

Sopher had many issues and work ethics was the main one pointed out by many. Sopher is like many in that position, talent gets you so far, you have to have a work ethic. I have seen many ranked far to high because of their lack that work ethic should have been much lower ranked.
Saban did not see him as a starter at Bama, his recruiting was all about keeping a door open. Look at Bama's dl at the time of recruiting Sopher.
See West Monroe.

We are fully focused on recruiting other running backs from what I gather, Evans would have to be begging us to get back in.

I think LSU takes Evans.
Evans needs coach O.
Jimbo is not the type he needs coaching him, Evans needs a family type of coach, one to look after him and keep him in line.
