Orgeron is a great recruiter and will always keep us near the top 5. But losing so many battles on signing day like we have the last few years will keep us from getting that #1 recruiting spot.
How much real world difference do you think there is between any of the top 5 recruiting classes? It’s honestly negligible. The important thing is did you feel your needs with quality players. We did EXACTLY that. I’d be willing to bet anything that next year, we sign several top receivers.

The most ironic thing about this is they tried to get Rak to sign due to being nervous about his "games" yet they let Burton, Burch, and now probably Evans all punk them despite their word. The ironic part to that is they might've kept Rak if they didn't pressure him. Then they basically told other recruits to look around.
This has been a terrible job by the coaching staff probably their worst yet and it's always an issue at the end of every year's recruiting class. Someone screws them over but this one right here is x10 worse than the ones in the past because they're striking out on everyone with not many bigger prospects left. You're essentially going to have to settle for guys way down the board just to fill 25. No way to slice it but the staff fricked up big time.
Not sure I've seen a team running into possibly the NC lose so much momentum in recruiting. Whatever the reason they better fix it because at this point it's the norm at the end of the recruiting seasons.

I and we should have no concern at all with recruiting ratings. We should do our own evaluations and recruit to our roster plans.
Too many recruiting ratings are impacted by what team offers.
Recruiting ratings pit to 4 decimal places are completely absurd

I don’t think there’s a coach in the country counting on Evans until his papers are in.
O and company saved a spot for him in the early period because they felt confident they could grab another RB before February but I highly doubt they counted him.

Lol, recruiting makes no sense. People say it’s ‘fluid’ and things change all the time, but essentially it’s just a large cluster**** with a lot of money involved. See you all in February.
Truer words have never been written on this board.

How am I wrong? The class is excellent but they've lost tons of recruiting momentum at the end. You can't deny this. They picked Dumervil and Webb up both excellent players but we have 6 spots to fill in this class still and not a lot of momentum is going on right now. Most of the high profile guys are gone. You have to settle for less now. It's not a situation where the elevator is going up. They need to establish momentum again. Evans is Georgia. It all leaked at once.
Well, 4 spots really depends on if the last 2 end up signing which I'd imagine they are.

Yea because Webb and Dumervil are nobodies. Ok. Sure.
Someone remind me to call this dude a dumbass every time I see him post. He’s earned

We still could’ve landed Webb and Dumervil without telling Lee and Lotando to frick off.

I'm curious, is Evan's a spread back?

If this is true, I have no issue with it. There’s recruiting drama and then there’s Burch, Evans and Jarrett.

Do you need to take reading comprehension classes? I'm talking about the consistency of this staff getting punked by the recruits at the end of every recruiting cycle. It has been a bad habit lately and this class is much worse than the ones in the past because they struck out on 4 blue chip recruits that LSU should've had in their bag. That's elite players that are difference makers. That's losing momentum in recruiting it doesn't matter how you want to spin it. Similar to Surtain's situation where nobody had a shot and he punks LSU's staff. The other coaches in SEC are dirty recruiting LSU and doing a good job with it.

Gibbs is probably a better fit for that style but I don't see why anyone would say Evans couldn't fit that system. He has elite athleticism and burst. Maybe he could work on his hands but I'm sure that wouldn't be difficult to do.

If he signed with Maryland out of spite like that, we aren't going to miss him at all. He might end up a fine player for them, but that's an impulsive, immature move. And one that portends to further poor decision making off the field in the future.

I guess that's what Jarrett meant about lack of trust with the coaching staff.
