I know that the coaches obviously must have been impressed by Chark's workout to offer him, but is it also possible that they know something we don't...I don't mean to be negative at all, but with Chark now committed, it just really isn't possible to fit all the excellent WR's in our class from a numbers standpoint. Some of you have said he might be utilized as a cornerback, but every recruiting site has him listed only as a WR and he was given an offer because of his receiving abilities, not his coverage. Again, I'm not questioning the coaches talent evaluation or trying to be negative, but does anyone think that the coaches believe they are going to miss out on one of the elite in-state wide receivers?

With Chark and Upchurch already committed, the LSU coaches must not expect to land Quinn, Dupre, Noil, Blacknall, or Williams, all of whom are heavily predicted to go to LSU. I'm not saying there's no way of LSU getting them all, but I'd be shocked if we take 7 WR's this year.

If we don't land the QB we want(which we may not) then that will free up a scholly and its been said that Clark may play on D. I'm not saying that we'll take them all. I don't know the numbers but I can't see the staff turning any of these beasts away. Especially instate.

Well there are 3 DJ Chark commits threads but this is a different question; and I thought my question, since it was long, would just get glanced over in the 9 page WR speculation board. Thanks for your input

Morris Claiborne was a WR. Spencer Ware a QB. Your high school position doesn't mean you'll be that on the next level. Especially at the WR/ath type player.

I understand that, but all indications to the fact that he will line up as a WR. He was offered because of his skill at the WR position, and he has said "he plans to compete at the wide receiver position at LSU and work at all three of the (X, Y Z) spots in order to find a home." (per Rivals) Later in the article, he does say he'll learn all the positions he's capable of playing; but all signs point to him as a WR.

Completely different. First off Claiborne was a QB, but he was taken as a CB first/WR second. Ware was taken solely as a RB.

Clark is a WR-first/CB-second take.

I recall he would be tried at both. Dude had serious skills with the ball in his hand. May had to do more with depth at cb. Guy played as a true frosh.

We're in great shape with Dupre and he's the top guy on the board. No chance he's left out

We're in solid shape with Noil but he wants to visit a few places and wants to see how the offense looks 1st. He's the one I'm most concerned about leaving but I do feel he's one we do get.

Quinn is a Tiger if we leave a spot open. All the insiders say he's a take regardless but I'm beginning to think a couple of posters with inside knowledge are correct in that Quinn is last on the board of the instate crop(not counting Sims of course). He's the one that could get told no but again I feel good about him being at LSU

Blacknall is in so might as well start counting him

Williams is the one I think we drop completely unless a spot is there in November/December. I truly believe his attitude is gonna push the coaches away. Is he worth the trouble for one year? I don't think so. Give me the 4 year kids.

No way we take 7 unless a spot is there. Imo that leaves out Williams. Also believe that Anthony Jones possibly is the one who's schollie just went to Chark. Upchurch slides to Hback and counts as a TE. Lots of questions and many will be answered in July imo. At that point I expect Blacknall, Quinn and Dupre to have made decisions or at the least in the case of Quinn, the staff lets them know the status.

They will need to take 6/7 WR's. If Leslie, Odell, Landry leave, It leaves Diarse, Dural, Peterson, Spears . Williams and Fobbs will be RS Sr's and who knows if they will be there. So WR is a huge need.

He could be the Chuck Baker of this class. Hope he still has an offer once his senior season is over. so much talent at the receiver position in the state. i am sure they would make room if better receivers came into the fold
