I like the idea of having a spot open for a transfer. There is always the possibility of an impact player wanting to transfer here and I think we should put ourselves in position to do so if that happens. If we sign 25 than we won't able to. If we don't use the scholly on a transfer, you can sign 26 the following year, if I am correct.

There are too many good players out there that we still have a shot at, I would be shocked if we didn't make it to 25.

We can’t take a transfer for another year. 2 year penalty due to transfer Alexander not finishing up what he was doing.

probably to many good high school players out there with interest in LSU to do that but I do like the idea, especially now with the transfer portal. Lot of impact players end up in the transfer portal these days.

Would that not be a grad transfer only penalty?

The hard 25 rule sucks. They need to go back to the way it was.

No, then Saban signs 32 every year.

Don't sign a great player because we MIGHT get a chance to sign a great player?

Depends on who the next 3 are.

Guillory is a take.
Evans is a take
Van Pran is a take
Dumerville is a take.

Plus I imagine O has a few tricks up hos sleeve we have no idea about.

If any combination of those players equal 3, we sign 25 and have one of the best classes we’ve ever had.

I agree if a great player wants in, then we sign them. If that is the case, we could process someone else to open up that spot.
This is the other tricky thing. How many spots do we leave open after the early signing period? If Guillory, Evans, Van Pran,Dumerville do not sign in the early period, do we leave 3 spots open? 2,1,0?

Should’ve left two spots open from this past signing class. This class just have to many great athletes to not pass on. Wish we could’ve left two spot open to be able to sign 27 this cycle.

O is on the record saying he is not a fan of
the portal. But he likes grad transfers.

Actually this article says it is a 1 year penalty in SEC, used to be 3.

“The SEC has voted to reduce the penalty from three years to one for a graduate transfer not meeting certain academic benchmarks, SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey announced Friday afternoon at the SEC Spring Meetings.

That clears the way for Notre Dame quarterback transfer Malik Zaire to attend Florida.

Florida was under the three-year penalty for two grad transfers who didn’t meet academic requirements two years ago.

Sankey said the initial penalty was five years, then was reduced to three years. Now it is one year.“

Most all transfers count in the current signing class 25. Burrow, Tracy, and Alexander all counted in the 2019 class.

There’s still a few squirrelly rules (see Michael Willlams - not a grad transfer), like if a guy pays his own way for a semester (wink-wink Bama... we’re on to your games now too).

We had our class last year and then filled HUGE needs... Burrow, Tracy, Alexander.

Remember Fulton was still in limbo when Alexander was added.
