He was also accused of smoking pot. So I guess we need a 3star weedhead and we're good to go.

matt forte, leading rusher and receiver for the bears as a rookie was a 2 star with only ONE scholarship offer. the recruiting services are fairly accurate for what they are, but it's crazy how off they can be sometimes

There are about 30 5* players each year
About 300 4* players each year and I think about 900 or so 3* players a year
There is a greater percentage of 5 * players that get drafted every year and you will ALWAYS find a few 3* players that will make a big impact in the NFL someday

Well, he may have been a 3 star his freshman year but it's highly unlikley he was his senior year, and he certainly isn't only a 3 star now. You state the obvious, but yet you think you are intelligent in doing so.

You don't make sense FWIW.

And this thread is just a public service message, if you don't get RR it's not the end of the world.

Some players do a little thing called develop while in college. Matt Forte is a great example.

5* are usually physically developed more than kids usually rated a 3*. Many kids mature in college.

Doesn't necessarily mean they were "off". Plenty of kids work harder and develop physically more in college than others. That doesn't mean they were a better prospect coming out of high school.

nah, they were off in forte's case but so were a lot of colleges. the consensus seemed to be that he was too big to play RB. unrated 2 star to a top 5-7 RB in the NFL as a rookie is a pretty huge miss. the entire purpose of those sites is to rank players based on potential

Wait, we did get Ryan P. and next year, no wait.

Ok we almost got Joe Mc and no wait we won the NC.

There was this time when we almost got the best QB in the state( A can't miss player by all the recruiting guru's), but he changed his mind after a guy from alabama, named Russell, made the choice to come to LSU. Oh that same class another kid named Matt Flynn said he was coming to LSU and didn't care who else we recruited. Oh that QB that didn't come to LSU, he ended up playing TE at old mrs.

Then one time two LB's (Archie McDaniel and another kid named Manning) signing day switched from LSU to a&m. They never did too much and LSU won the NC a couple years later.

We did get a 5* player in X-Carter, around the same time we got two other guys not 5* players. Bowe and Buster Davis, what two did better at LSU?

I've got more, nice to look back in time....
