Will we miss on any top Louisiana talent?

It looks like several 4 stars are still on the board and we already have 12 commits.

We most likely won’t get some of the top guys and that’s not because they won’t want to come here, but it’s because we are recruiting at possibly the highest level we ever have out of state. From California, to Texas, to Maryland. I mean just an example. If we land Rakim Jarrett that means no Koy Moore, Jakhi Douglas from Louisiana, because we will have gotten Burton and Jarrett from Cali and DC. If we weren’t in position to land Demouy Kennedy on top of Alec Bryant maybe we would have seen Brandon Williams in the class, but probably not anymore. A guy like Major Burns may be left out. Joel Williams will be left out, etc. etc. Major credit to the staff for the National booms.

I guess it depends on what you (or LSU) considers top talent.
LSU doesn't seem to be pursuing WR J Douglas and even less ATH J Williams. The same can be said for S M Burns and LB B Williams.
Of these four 4-stars, the one I'd most prefer more of a look for is LB B Williams. The others can, or have been, covered with equal or better prospects.
LA has 13 4-star players, according to 247, and will likely sign 9 of them. That is a great haul.

Not sure if he was asking precisely this, but the version of the question I want answered is, will we miss out on any we actually want bad?

The LA class is not as good as it was last year
It's a long way out and the out of state kids are the ones you have to worry more about decommiting.
While USC and UCLA are down, O is doing a great job of using those CA connections to get on those top CA players. It's a no brainer and if those commits stick, you just stole some huge prospects out of CA.
I think Roy and Guillory are the must recruits out of LA. They need to get Van Pran for Oline as well out of LA.
I would take Koy Moore for sure as well as Burns and Douglas.
In the end it will all work out. LSU has already lost early commitments in Draine and Turner so still a long way to go.
Jalen Cook - I'm guessing he ends up playing hoops at college level.

Van Pran too.

We're not going to miss on them as much as we're going to be forced to pass.
But if you take a look at the way too early 2021 player rankings, there are some studs in Louisiana. I imagine we will be recruiting the backyard harder, but will still have to pass on multiple 4* WRs.

He sure as shite did.
How did I make it past 7th grade.
Not even going to edit that, too. Gonna leave it right there for all the downvotes.

IMO no we won’t. I believe we will land Roy, Guillory, and Van Pran and we need all 3. If we don’t get Jalen Lee I beleive it'll be because we get Barnard Wright. As for Koy and Jakhi, we could land Koy if we don’t get Jarrett, but things are looking good there. For Major Burns and Joel Williams we aren’t really pushing all that hard because we have guys like Eric Reed Jr, Jordon Toles, Xavion Alford left. We most likely land Ashad Clayton too and if we don’t we probably will have landed Kendall Milton. So in all honesty I don’t think there are any LA recruits we will miss out on this year that the staff actually wants, if there is one it would be Major Burns, but there are other options there.

I could see us missing on Roy or Clayton.
Clayton is big on playing time (knows he will be behind emery)
I could see Roy going to bama

Thanks for the info guys.
This future is bright for LSU.
I can’t remember when missing out on Louisiana talent was a good thing!
Local kids need to start signing up early from now on and stop playing games.

I was trying to figure out how to say this. The in state kids need to commit and quit fiddling around. In some respects the program decline 2014 to 2016 was a reason for this. But not any more.
