There is no way to spin and twist this as bad news.

If we host for 3 days and he leaves without signing, this place will explode

Rumor was Leavitt and his posse were difficult at ASU as well. That’s the main thing that gives me pause with him, but if Kiffin wants him I’m on board.

We need a quarterback in a bad way

Couldn’t be the first time somebody’s high maintenance

According to the recruiting experts, the reason they have him as the top quarterback is because he is super competitive

They say he wants to be coached and he wants to be developed

If he is meeting with Glasscock it's a good thing as contract details are sorted out.

It’s gold.

Got a piece of mail in college addressed to Gary Glasscock so it’s been one of my alter egos since then. New GM having that name is icing on the cake

The difficulty these people are saying has something to do with Leavitt aggravating injury playing hoops so Dillingham kicked him off the team for being selfish.

Zero chance that is true.

His strength is his feet, but he needs to settle them. A lot of his big plays it’s chaos football. His arm doesn’t seem to be particularly strong, but he throws a catchable ball. He seems to have a very good mental clock and is willing to take a hit (could be good trait, could be bad).

He’s very well equipped to run a very fast paced offense.

He needs work on his delivery and arm slot, but his creativity is what makes him the player he is.

If he is LSU’s QB next year it will be leading an offense with a sense of urgency, which LSU has lacked. LSU under Sloan and Kelly refused to take advantage of tempo.

He appears to be a really good fit for a Lane Kiffin offense.

Whoever says Leavitt is not a great passer probably haven’t seen his highlights. He’s the number one QB transfer on 247 for a reason. They’re probably the same people who said Jayden should’ve been a WR.

Leavitt is a marksman passer.

**DISCLAIMER I WANT SAM LEAVITT AS LSU QB**

Yes, I watched his very extended highlights from 2024 and 2025 and came to the conclusion that he is more of a creator type QB, rather than a pure passing QB. His arm strength, while good, is not what I would qualify as "ELITE."

Youtube Link - 2025 highlights

We tend to throw that word elite around too much. Joe Burrow had an elite arm. He could sit in the pocket and make every throw.

Sam Leavitt is at his best when he is moving around or the play breaks down. Not to mention having Tyson at WR, a 2026 NFL top-10 pick.

Sam Leavitt is not going to sit in a pocket and pick defense a part. He is a QB that makes a defense lose their responsibility and he takes advantage of it with his feet, drop off passes, or his WR's breaking open.

EDIT:

Also, here is his completion %s the last two years. This is not what I qualify as an elite passer or "marksman"

2025 - 145 CMP 239 ATT 60.7 CMP% 1,628 YDS 6.8 AVG 10 TDS 3 INT 61 LNG 129.2 RTG
2024 - 216 CMP 350 ATT 61.7 CMP% 2,885 YDS 8.2 AVG 24 TDS 6 INT 68 LNG 150.2 RTG

Nothing in the #s above says elite passer. It's chaos football, with big exciting plays.

I’ve wondered about this with a player coming in with an injury or medical history. I assume it’s just under a larger microscope the more you are going to play to get that commitment

It’s also possible they’re working on his NIL package. Wasn’t there a new directive sent out yesterday that essentially stated that any NIL deals signed after the player signs with a team counts toward the teams revenue sharing dollars regardless of where the money comes from? If that’s the case, since Leavitt is likely our biggest NIL beneficiary, it would make sense to get his NIL deal taken care of before he signs with us.
